I first heard about this Irish film when it showed at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and I heard great things about it. Unfortunately I never had the chance to see it, but now Magnolia is bringing The Eclipse to theaters this March. The film is a supernatural thriller about a teacher (played by Ciarán Hinds) raising two kids alone since his wife died two years earlier. Lately he has been seeing and hearing strange things late at night in his house. He isn't sure if he is simply having terrifying nightmares or if his house is haunted. This trailer looks great, I'm definitely interested in seeing it. If you're in the mood for some supernatural, enjoy.

In an Irish town, a widower sparks with a visiting novelist and starts to see ghosts. Embellished by the supernatural, The Eclipse is about the challenges of love, fear of the unknown, and a release from grief.
The Eclipse is both written and directed by Irish filmmaker Conor McPherson, of Saltwater and The Actors previously. This first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and has gone on to play at other film festivals around the world. Magnolia is bringing The Eclipse to theaters starting on March 26th this year.

Looks great! Definitely has an original feel to it, which is very inviting. The trailer really kept me interested. Will see!

I agree with #3, this movie looks very boring. I've never been intrigued by "true-story" ghost films, and that is what this reminds me of. Paranormal Activity was terrible, and this looks just as bad.

excellent trailer! a "ghost" movie that doesn't look like it was made for teenagers. #4, this reminds me of NOTHING from paranormal activity - not in direction, presentation, storyline.........how does it remind you of parnormal activity???

"#4, this reminds me of NOTHING from paranormal activity - not in direction, presentation, storyline………how does it remind you of parnormal activity??? " I totally agree, what the hell are you talking about? This trailer alone looks 1000 times better then Paranormal Activity, but ofc, 1000 times less ppl will see this gem then Paranormal Activity. You know, when I take a dump and say goodbye, THAT reminds me of Paranormal Activity.

Although I usually like supernatural thrillers, I don't like this one.

The trailer seemed more like a drama about seduction and betrayal than a ghost story...

This film to me would send me to sleep, It’s a lot of talk no action ... I want Escapism not paying good money to be able to fall asleep. I think this film will have limited Release in Cinemas and that will only Be IFC cinemas probably better waiting for it to come out on DVD.

What I meant in saying that The Eclipse is like Paranormal Activity was that they are both "true-story" type ghost films. When I say "true-story", I'm talking about films that look like they are realistic. An "untrue-story" ghost film would be something like Ghostbusters or Beetlejuice.

Looks like one of those good movies you catch late at night flipping through the channels and kinda hooks you in.
