Warner Bros Unveils the First Teaser Trailer for Yogi Bear 3D
by Alex Billington
July 28, 2010
Source: Yahoo
As promised this morning with the first official poster, Warner Bros has debuted the first official trailer (via Yahoo) for Yogi Bear in 3D (don't forget) to go along with the stench that picnic-basket-strewn poster left. Despite featuring the voices of Dan Aykroyd as Yogi Bear and Justin Timberlake as Boo-Boo, this really doesn't look that good at all. I don't know about the rest of you, but on December 17th I'm going to be sitting in theaters watching Tron Legacy over and over in 3D and I hope all the extra glasses that Yogi Bear doesn't use get handed over to the Tron theaters. Anyway, you should make up your own mind so watch end enjoy.
Watch the first teaser trailer for Warner Bros' Yogi Bear movie:
You can also watch the first teaser trailer for Yogi Bear in High Definition on Yahoo
A documentary filmmaker travels to Jellystone to shoot a project and soon crosses paths with Yogi Bear, his sidekick Boo-Boo and Ranger Smith. Including T.J. Miller, Anna Faris, Tom Cavanagh, Andrew Daly.
Yogi Bear is directed by former visual effects supervisor Eric Brevig, who directed the awful 3D Journey to the Center of the Earth previously. The script was co-written by Brad Copeland (Wild Hogs, "My Name Is Earl"), Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia (both of Surviving Christmas, Tooth Fairy). Warner Bros is bringing this hybrid Yogi Bear movie to theaters in 3D starting on December 17th this holiday season.

WTF!! On December 17th, instead of paying lousey money for this crap, I'll be sitting in an IMAX theater watching Tron: Legacy!!! Now that's a 3D experience. Also, I enjoyed Journey 3D alot, so I had hopes for this. So I say thank you Warner Bros. for making crappy kids films (Ex: Shorts, Cats & Dogs 2, Yogi Bear)

I agree with #7. This looks like it could be a good movie, well for KIDS though. For Adults....maybe. But knowing that there are true fans of Yogi Bear, they will enjoy this movie. It might not look as good and won't be the best movie of the year (Obviously), but at least it'll be WATCHABLE.

Short Letter to Hollywood: if you're wanting to cleverly recreate iconic 60s television, and you're not Quentin Tarentino, then please don't bother. xxxxxx S! P.S. You're releasing this the same day TRON LEGACY hits the theaters. Here's another little suggestion: have your Distribution people shot.

Some of you act like this film is aiming for the same demographics as Tron. It's Yogi Bear. A kid's film? Kids will love it. I for one cannot wait to take my little nieces and nephews to see this.

This will be terrible, just like the Garfield movie. That's my assumption! I could be wrong! That said, Timberlake's Booboo impression... thoughts?

I hope there is a Huckleberry Hound short at the beginning...perhaps where he goes absofuckinglutely nuts and takes a machete to the rest of the Hanna Barberra crew...now THAT I would pay $7.00 to see. Once.

While it is totally unnecessary, it does seem to follow the original accurately and with no thrown in pop references. Uninterested and no offended.

Boo Boo sounds WAY better than Yogi. I think Aykroyd was going for Yogi via Rodney Dangerfield or something.

it's not gooood but, yeah, better than what it could be. anna ferris is a very funny lady (ie Observe and Report) so she and the other humans could salvage this, if they have decent enough gags ala jumping aboard the train. ill wait for reviews

Honestly, you made this sound so much worse. Does it look good? No. But it does look fine for kids, though. And I've seen wwaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse looking trailers. Don't get me wrong, it still looks pretty bad.... but there's so much more worse looking crap being released all the time. I don't know why this is getting shat on over all the others.

I wouldn't be suprised if Yogi Bear won Best Movie at next year's Nickolodeon Kids Choice Awards over the likes of Iron Man 2 and Alice in Wonderland. The Logic: The Twilight Saga: New Moon got Chipmunked by a certain Squeakquel.

After the Q & A session, Yogi went back to his trailer. He held a photograph of his family and began to sob. P.E.T.A. ran off with his money and his family is no where to be found. he then opened a bottle of JD and sniffed a line of coke. "we're done BOO BOO...WE'RE DONE!! NOW GET THE HELL OUTTA MY TRAILER!!" He later found out that the movie is going straight to DVD.

you guys can say what you want But mark my words, this movie will make more money than tron on Christmas day! I'm not saying it deserves to, I'm just saying it will. Kids have a lot of influence, and no kid under ten is going to know about, or care about tron. I personally wil be seeing True Grit on Christmas

There's no Relatable draw bc there's no audience. Kids don't know who yogi is, let alone Hanna Barberra the way WE rememeber (Hair Bears, Jabber jaw, Dick Dasterdly & Muttly, Super Friends, grape ape, Yogi, Huckleberry Hound, Snaggle Puss, Hong Kong Phooey, etc....). People older than 25 had the USA Cartoon Express, TBS and the EARLY days of cartoon network which played a bunch of that old Hanna Barberra stuff exclusively. Kids today just know scooby. IMO this'll be like the Live-Action Rocky & BullWinkle.

Jesus Christ guys, give it a break... It's a kids movie, for kids, and kids will enjoy it. Kids won't enjoy Tron, kids don't particularly find Inception interesting. This is the problem with Critics and internet fans, if it's not to THEIR TASTE it's automatically bad. Alex, you have to be THE most opinionated and self-loving critic/pundit/reviewer/journalist in the history of cinema. For the love of God, give an average film a break. I probably won't watch this, as I don't find this kind of flick interesting, but I won't slag it off and it does look like kids would find this fun. Even if they don't know who Yogi is, they will after they watch this. Man you guys anger me! 🙁

@48: respect your opinion (and genuinely funny sarcasm), just understand this is where we're invited to voice ours. You dont have to agree with the masses, although it seems they are basing their conclusions off of the same footage shown.

#45 the reason he does this is because 10 year old kids will not be reading his reviews on this website, and if we are speaking demographics, lets just get it out there that kids do NOT look at this website or others, just people like me and you, and honestly, do you REALLY think the people that Alex is trying to tell his opinion to are gonna give two shits about a talking bear that eats pie and wears a tie? Think before you speak, it is embarrassing, why not go make a website, then come bash his site when you get followers. Hell, Alex probably won't even read all this stuff you idiots write, he is too busy actually doing something that matters, at least to him, and thats what counts. Hell, if it means he get to go to comic con every year, i would give trailers for everything like this crap too. "Man, you guys anger me!!" If this trailer and his opinion anger you that much, the internet may possibly not be for you. Go cry to your mom about it, u clearly still live with her.

Clears throat. Raises hand. #52 My 11 year old son comes to this website because Alex has "cool trailers" for "awesome movies". Don't under estimate a kid now-a-days. They're pretty smart. However, even for a kid's flick, this movie looks rather boring. It didn't interest my son at all. I even told him that I loved Yogi Bear when I was his age. He just laughed at me. I wish they would have just gone all out CGI.

#45 I was a kid once, and I enjoyed the hell out of Aliens, Heavy Metal, Terminator, Lifeforce, King Kong, and Man's Best Friend when I was SEVEN! While that may have been evidence of what made me the messed up person I am today, regardless, I enjoyed watching those movies as a kid. My point being that kids can enjoy adult movies, sometimes more than the kiddy crap (I certainly know I enjoyed those more than f*$#ing Barney when I was young). Kids won't enjoy Tron!? WTF are you talking about? I'm willing to bet you $20 that plenty of kids enjoyed the first Tron, and kids of this generation would definitely enjoy the new Tron as much as they would enjoy the new Star Trek, if not even more so. Anyway, rant aside, yeah, this Yogi Bear movie looks like a pile of bear shit.

@ #24 I think you hit the nail on the head. Everything from his voice inflections to the animators choices in small physical ticks like the tie straightening point towards more Dangerfield than Art Carney. @ #52 Snap! A well thought out and witty rebuttal! On the internet no less! I am impressed sir, deeply impressed! In all seriousness though, this one looks more for the age 4-8 crowd than those who will have the patience to sit through the beginning lead-in that you know is going to take up the first 15 minutes or so of Tron Legacy. I can understand the movie companies putting out something that is going to blatantly play towards young children. With Warner Bros. and Disney battling it out between Harry Potter 7 Part I and Tron Legacy for the 10 and older crowd this Christmas a banally plotted little flick about a cartoon bear just might sneak some money away from the wrestling juggernauts.

I think I'm going to love this movie. Anyway, how about a Huckleberry Hound movie in the future. I can't think of anyone who would voice the dog with a big resume, but I would like to see Huck in 3-D as well. After that, throw in Magilla Gorilla, Top Cat, and Atom Ant.
