Centurion Trailer

I made a promise to a General to get his soldiers home. That is my task. That is my duty. Wow, this looks good. Magnet Releasing has debuted a bloody, badass new red band trailer for Neil Marshall's Centurion, the ancient Roman epic starring Michael Fassbender, Dominic West and Olga Kurylenko. We featured the first trailer for this in February and a crazy new poster last week, but this trailer is pretty much all you will need to watch to be convinced to see this (I hope). The new footage gives us a glimpse of the bloodiness and intensity of Neil Marshall's movie that he couldn't show before and it looks pretty damn good. Check it out.

Watch the official red band trailer for Neil Marshall's Centurion from YouTube:

Centurion is both written and directed by British auteur Neil Marshall, of Dog Soldiers, The Descent, and Doomsday previously. It's an epic action adventure film set in 117 AD about a group of Roman soldiers who must fight for their lives behind enemy lines after their entire legion is decimated in a devastating guerrilla attack. This already premiered at ActionFest and during SXSW earlier this year as well. Magnolia Pictures is distributing it in the US. Centurion will hit limited theaters starting on August 27th as well as early online VOD and Xbox starting July 30th. Visit the official website: centurionmovie.com. Anyone going to watch?

It looks like it will impress some but i can see myself passing this up. It felt like King Arthur a little. And perhaps a little too bloody ?

I'll see it fro the badassedness. Was that Imogen Poots? I'm sure of it! That girl has one od a kind eyes. I'm just glad it isn't trying to be a pro-Roman (Eventhough it kinda is) wanna-be history lesson.

saw a screening at nyu last week. Very very gory (a nice head slice scene) and a badass girl villian. Story kind of trails at the end but Fassbender is sick and the cinematography is outstanding. Worth it for the gore alone

Still am not sold. It felt EXACTLY like King Arthur, and that isn't a good thing. And wtf was with the "Whatever comes out of that mist lads, you will hooold the liiiiine?" Whoever is speaking sounds like a straight up creep/pedophile, or if anyone knows who Dr. Barber from Flapjack is... it sounds like him. Whatever, it just sounds retarded. And the action looks gory just for the sake of being gory. And the worst part.... I hate Olga. I swear if she wasn't in this, I'd actually wanna see it.

The Descent was good but Doomsday was one of the worst movies I've ever paid to see... I'll be passing on this one.

I thought the last trailer was weak, but this looks epic now and I'm pretty damn excited. Mr. Marshall, this is your last chance to impress me though as The Descent was great, but Doomsday and Dog Soldiers really disappointed me.

Centurion is basically a succession of chase sequences. But I still look forward to watch Centurion, although Doomsday was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Could be good. I'm happy to see it's rated R, for some reason I had it in my head it was PG-13.

Don't really get the Romans as good guys bit. I hope they all get killed in the end by the pagan 'savages'.

#16 it's just a movie man, c'mon. If the Romans didn't conquer the lands that they did, civilization would be completely different. For better or worse, no one knows, but why hate on a fictional story set a couple thousand years ago?

looked like a good, gory watch to me. it's nice to see not every action movie is getting dumbed down/sanitized to pg-13 for the teen crowd. i'll definitely give this a watch.

It premiered last month here (Netherlands), but I wasn't too impressed with it to be honest. The action scenes were fast paced and cool though!

I pegged Marshall as the next great horror director after 'The Descent," but 'Doomsday' was a huge step backward for him. Hoping "Centurion" restores my faith in his abilities.

thx Cineprog, trailer itself seemed to of been poorly edited, but the movie has potential.

Looks pretty dang good. #16 You do know that the Romans worshipped Pegan gods too... Right? More epic historical flicks please!

I will be cheering for the Celts or Picts to defeat the foreign imperialists, the Romans.

Looks pretty good, the movie was filmed on Scotland and England, including Alice Holt forest in Hampshire, and some parts are based on historical facts.

@ Brandon, S'pose those Romans did rock the pagan worship til they remixed the Jesus myth with a bit of a Mithras twist. I think the killing of the Christians and how blindly dedicated to the cause they were made them rethink how worship could be used as a control device. I know the Romans were good at building roads, had proper plumbing and dressed pretty well.
