Watch Director Danny Boyle Talk About Shooting '127 Hours'
Thanks especially to his recent films Slumdog Millionaire and Sunshine, Danny Boyle is one of my favorite filmmakers currently working. Not only do his movies have a style to them unlike anything, he's a wonderful guy that I've had the pleasure of meeting once or twice. I'm anxiously awaiting the opportunity to see newest film, 127 Hours, a mostly one-man effort about a mountain climber in Utah who had to amputate his own arm, starring James Franco as that climber. Empire recently held their "Movie-Con" event and debuted the trailer and chatted with Boyle. They've released a short clip of the on-stage chat which you can watch below.
I just love hearing Boyle talk about filmmaking, he's such a great guy and so damn talented. And I can't wait to see a trailer next! "We want it to be a challenge for you guys as well… to see if you can watch it." Bring it on. In the first look post, Boyle said "you will want him to cut off his arm by the end." In addition to Franco, the cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Kate Mara, Amber Tamblyn and the lovely Clémence Poésy. It also had two cinematographers, Anthony Dod Mantle and Enrique Chediak, who follow Franco through first-person POV dialogue in some scenes. Fox Searchlight scheduled 127 Hours for limited release starting November 5th.

Give me Boyle and have John Murphy do the score and it doesn't get much better than that!

I absolutely love Danny Boyle, I can't wait to see what he does with this movie. Now that Inception is out, this is officially my most anticipated movie to watch.

Ehh... I think Boyle still have some more directing chops to prove in order to be proclaimed as one of the most skilled director today. I mean his movie has slowly built to the level of very good entertaining movies rather than a reputation that deserved to be branded as one of the greatest.

But hey Franco is really giving his best efforts this time around. Maybe the collaboration of Franco and Boyle will get us a great one.
