The Walking Dead

Have I told you guys I'm excited as all hell to watch "The Walking Dead" when it airs on AMC later this month? This isn't the first time I've broken our own no-television rule to provide coverage on "The Walking Dead", AMC's adaptation of the beloved post-apocalyptic zombie comic book series. A brand new, massive 17-minute behind-the-scenes featurette for the show has debuted via the official blog and it encompasses everything from writing, directing (Frank Darabont!), production design, special effects to zombie make-up and much more. If you're as excited as I am for this show, you've got to watch this featurette. Check it out!

Watch the massive new behind-the-scenes featurette for AMC's "The Walking Dead":

AMC's new fall series "The Walking Dead", based on Robert Kirkman's incredibly popular comic book series that began in 2003 published by Image Comics, tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. Old world Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. Frank Darabont directed the pilot episode, which debuts on Halloween, October 31st, later this fall. Other series directors include Ernest R. Dickerson and Swedish director Johan Renck. Check out the official Walking Dead website at AMC.com.

I never get anything out of these. There are shows I absolutely love but if it's not gag reels I never care about this stuff. Still can't wait for this though! Definitely being added to the MUST WATCH list since The Event has been kicked off. Kinda bored already...

Heres to hoping the best comic of all time can become the best television show of all time. After all, what appears to just be zombie fun on the surface is really an emotional, high tension plot line.

Wow...they've really got some A list talent behind this show, both in front of, and behind the camera. I definitely get more of a film vibe from watching that than anything close to what's on television these days.

Michael Rooker? I'm in. Darabont makes it gold, and Lenny James!? Epic gold! Jeffrey Demunn!? omg! and Laurie Holden!? amazing. I've been looking for something to replace Lost, looks like I found it!

'Heroes' is gone BUT my favorite comic will take its place! The Walking Dead! Yeah baby! God, I wish they did more episodes 🙁

Haven't looked forward to Halloween this much since I was a kid, and that was a long time ago. Huge fan of the comic book, and like they all say in the piece - this looks like the kind of adaptation comic fans can appreciate. The dark nature of the source material makes it all the more enthralling.

@ #6 I'm pretty sure they're gonna do more episodes, they just wanna see how well the show does off of the first season (6 episodes I believe?) and go from there. I have no doubts that it'll be a hit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead_%28TV_series%29

I can't watch it in my location, either. Just a question: do they make any sort of mention of the opening credits?

Man oh man. I am a huge fan of the comics. Certainly the best I've read in a very long time. And this is looking really good, but I'm trying not to watch too much into these "featurettes" because I want to keep it fresh when I watch the series. And what a way to spend Sunday afternoon after mega-drinking that weekend.

@Xerxex, Yeah, Marita Covarrubias is totally hot.

But seriously, pretty good casting. Lennie James played my favorite character in Jericho. This series could do with some Gerald McRaney, too.

Which one is Sam Worthington?
