Géla Babluani's 13 Trailer

Lock and load! After making his feature debut with 13 Tzameti, French filmmaker Géla Babluani decided to direct the glitzy Hollywood remake of his own film himself now 10 years later. This time it's called just 13 and Shadow And Act (via The Playlist) has the first trailer. Babluani rounded up an impressive cast: Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Shannon, Ray Winstone, Sam Riley, 50 Cent, David Zayas and Emmanuelle Chriqui. It's a fairly slow paced introductory trailer, but it still looks good, and feels a lot more British than French or anything. But wait it's all a big game? Watch below!

Watch the first official trailer for Géla Babluani's 13:

A naive young man named Vince (Sam Riley) assumes another man's identity and finds himself embroiled in an underground world of power and chance, where men gamble behind closed doors with others' lives.

13 is directed by young French filmmaker Géla Babluani, who made his feature debut with the film that this is a remake of, 13 Tzameti in 2005, and followed that up with L'héritage. Babluani co-wrote the screenplay with Gregory Pruss (Marlowe). This was co-produced by Paramount Vantage, but as far as we know doesn't have an actual distributor in the US yet. We'll definitely keep you updated on anything we hear. Thoughts?

The significant thing about this movie has nothing to do with the movie, but rather the fact that both Icemen, Mickey Rourke and Michael Shannon, are in it.

When is it set? Seems to have a 70's vibe to it.

Damn it. I am a huge fan of the original. I was going to go into a rant about remakes, but the cast looks great. Also interested in seeing Michael Shannon in a role where he is not playing a psycho.
