I Am Number Four Teaser Trailer

DreamWorks (Steven Spielberg's productiong company, not the animation house) has debuted the first full teaser trailer for their upcoming epic sci-fi adaptation I Am Number Four directed by D.J. Caruso (The Saltson Sea, Disturbia). This stars Alex Pettyfer (also from Beastly) as an alien from another planet being destroyed by a rival species. He comes to Earth and blends in as a high school student, but obviously the bad guys come find him. Pettyfer's guardian on Earth was originally going to be Sharlto Copley but was replaced by Timothy Olyphant last minute. It's an introductory teaser so there's not too much in it - enjoy anyway.

Watch the first teaser trailer for D.J. Caruso's I Am Number Four from YouTube:

John is an extraordinary teen, masking his true identity and passing as a typical high school student to elude a deadly enemy seeking to destroy him. Three like him have already been killed… he is Number Four.

I Am Number Four is directed by American filmmaker D.J. Caruso, of The Salton Sea, Taking Lives, Two for the Money, Disturbia and Eagle Eye most recently. The screenplay was co-written by writing partners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Lethal Weapon 4, Shanghai Knights, Spider-Man 2, Herbie Fully Loaded, "Smallville") and is based on James Frey & Jobie Hughes' novel of the same name that just hit bookshelves. DreamWorks is producing & Disney is bringing I Am Number Four to theaters on February 18th, 2011.

Why do I feel sick inside? This didn't do a thing for me and I normally dig sci-fi.

@Trey, maybe the humans look like the aliens, ever think of that? No really this looks like it could have some pretty good action, and a decent story. Although it does have kind of a Roswell feel to it.

For some reason Im getting a teen flick vibe from it, when I heard about the script and casting news for this I imagined it a lot differently. I have a soft spot for Timothy Olyphant though, he needs to stop doing TV and show his true talents in hollywood more. The fact that Olyphant plays the "Guardian" makes me think his character is going to be completely bad-ass which is what hes best at.

I got a weird 'The Covenant' vibe there, with the flying people and effects. It'd be cool if a car exploded and then magic'd itself together again. Peace.

I saw this in the 80's. It was called The Powers of Matthew Star. Lou Gossett Jr. was the guardian.

What a waste of a good title! "I Am Number Four" should be a Brett Favre biopic.

i think there would be a little more promises if he was at least a college whoever...but high school?

why can' they just make JUMPER 2? The premise on that one is far more interesting. Characters are already established in the 1st one. Plus, you get the possibility of getting Kirsten Stewart as a Palladin hunting Hayden Christensen.

I think this looks pretty good. I think most movies with aliens don't deviate from other alien movies too much but there are exceptions that break the mold. This looks like a fun movie to see without going into it having great expectations.
