It's assassin time. Focus Features has finally debuted an official trailer on Yahoo for Joe Wright's Hanna, the new action-thriller starring Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, City of Ember, The Lovely Bones) as a highly skilled 14-year-old assassin, trained by her father, played by Eric Bana. We've seen a first look photo and some footage at NY Comic-Con, but this is our first look at the trailer and it's actually awesome, or at least I think so. The cast includes: Cate Blanchett, Olivia Williams and Tom Hollander. The best part about this is that I think we're hearing some of the new Chemical Brothers music that they made for the film. Enjoy!

You can also watch the Hanna trailer in High Def on Yahoo
Raised by her father in Finland, Hanna's upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her a perfect assassin. Sent into the world on a mission, Hanna travels stealthily across Europe.
Hanna is directed by Golden Globe nominated, highly acclaimed British filmmaker Joe Wright, of the films Pride and Prejudice, Atonement and Paramount's flop The Soloist previously. The screenplay was co-written by Joe Wright, Joe Penhall (Enduring Love, The Road) and David Farr ("MI-5"). Focus Features, the genre/ indie arm of Universal, will be bringing Hanna to theaters everywhere starting on April 8th early this spring.

Hmm... looks interesting. Didn't really like the trailer though... I think it tried to cram too much info in instead of focusing on one aspect of the story.

Bana and Blanchett I'm in. It looks good, Wright is a talented director (Atonement is a favorite of mine) so yeah as I said I'm in.

You know, it looks like it would be a good movie if it was what they say it is? But I'm guessing they're going to throw some plot twist in there like - "Dad was in on it and part of the training for some ultimate goal... and he's not really her dad..."

What?? Blanchett exits a cab in front of SAFARI strip club at 1:41? That's a spot here in Hamburg/St. Pauli Reeperbahn right around the corner, how strange! Does the story takes place in germany?

@17...I believe the film is a globe-trotter so...Finland, Morocco, Spain, Germany, etc.

This trailer reminded me of Kickass' story only with only Big Daddy and Hit Girl and more realistic. I liked it. I also liked how they are using real accents and not gone lazy and just done American or their native accent. I Like!

Looks solid to me! Interesting enough, thrilling enough, fast enough... besides, whatever project Cate Blanchet is involved, I'm in... eh... the crystal skull doesn't count, ok?

She was interviewed on Irish television on Friday but was talking about The Way Back. Although given she also mentioned her work for a childrens charity a film about a trained child assassin in the same interview might have been ill placed 🙂
