Frankie and Alice Trailer

Just like Crazy Heart last year, there's an indie drama that we've never heard of until a few months ago that a small studio is releasing just in time for Oscars in hopes of getting its star a nomination and potential win. It's called Frankie and Alice and, according to early buzz, it does actually put Halle Berry in the Oscar race once again. Frankie and Alice is described as a "moving psychological drama" based on the harrowing true story of Frankie Murdoch (Berry), a woman suffering with multiple personality disorder. It also stars Stellan Skarsgård, Matt Frewer, Phylicia Rashad and Chandra Wilson. Check out the official trailer below!

Watch the official trailer for Geoffrey Sax's Frankie and Alice:

A drama set in the 1970s centered on a young woman (Academy Award winner Halle Berry) with multiple personality disorder who struggles to remain her true self and not give in to her racist alter-personality.

Frankie and Alice is directed by former TV director Geoffrey Sax, who's going dramatic after directing White Noise and Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker previously. The screenplay was co-written by a big group of people, not all at once, including: Cheryl Edwards, Marko King, Mary King, Jonathan Watters, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. Freestyle Releasing is bringing Frankie and Alice to very limited theaters starting on December 10th (for an Oscar qualifying run) and later for an expanded limited release on February 4th.

It looks like it has really strong performances by all and I would definitely watch this. I really liked Monster's Ball and it has that feel to it. Although I have to say, even though I really like the actors in this it could go either way for me based on the trailer because it does look like it could be boring but I guess I'll have to see it to know for sure.
