Watch: Leighton Meester Gets Fiesty in 'The Roommate' Trailer

Screen Gems has debuted the official trailer for their upcoming early 2011 cheesy teenage horror flick The Roommate starring a few hotties like Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly. I know there's an audience for these kind of horror movies or they wouldn't continue making them, but this just seems so much like The Stepfather or any of those teenage thrillers, and I just don't care about them. Of course, everyone's going to watch this because Meester and Kelly and everyone in it is so damn hot (and there's a shower scene!) but I can still say it looks awful. Watch if you want, but I'm not sure many of you will care about it either. Enjoy.

Freshman college student Sara (Minka Kelly) finds her safety jeopardized after she's assigned to a dorm room with a new roommate, Rebecca (Leighton Meester), who becomes increasingly obsessed with her.
The Roommate is directed by Danish filmmaker Christian E. Christiansen, of At Night and Zoomers as well as numerous episodes of a Danish TV show called "Mikkel og guldkortet" previously, but this is his first US film. The screenplay was written by Sonny Mallhi, usually an exec producer of other horror flicks delivering his first script. Screen Gems is bringing The Roommate to theaters on February 4th, 2011 early next year.

How much do these two chicks look alike ??? Looks the normal crap to be honest but good to see Minka Kelly in a big role. Hope it leads to better things for her.

I had a crazy ass roommate in college myself. But HE was no Leighton Meester...who I would not kick out of bed...even if she was creepily stroking my hair like a puppy while I slept...cuz she's, you know, fucking hot... That said, I look forward to watching the lesbian kiss scene on the internet somewhere around the time of its theatrical release and then going back to forgetting this film was ever made.

The director is from Denmark (just like Lars Von Trier and Bille August), and as a dane myself I'm SO embarrassed to see this kinda of shit come from a danish director. He even found american clones of the 3 girls he always feature in his films - non of them any talented. If this turns out to be anything like his past films, then don't waste your time. The girls might look hot, but there is nothing hot about this film - I promise you that! So I agree with the most of you guys comments! Btw. his next danish film is a complete rip-off of Bourne - just with a female lead. Sounds dumb...? Without question!

They gave away far too much in this trailer. There isn't even any mystery left are to whom is doing what. Dumb. On the plus side - if there is one - is that the viewer you will be visually stimulated by the two leads in during this hackneyed retread. Others think so as well. Meester has already appeared in GQ Magazine: http://film-book.com/leighton-meester-gq-magazine-december-2009/ Anyway, this film screams STV but will somehow get a theater release. Good 'ol Hollywood.

Years ago there was a movie called: "Single White Female" with Bridget Fonda. This movie looks like a gorier version of that. I think I'll give it a miss.

I agree with #26, it screams STV. The girls do look too much alike, and like others I completely lost track of who was who (I think Leighton's character dyes her hair darker to look more like Minka's character at some point). I think the only way it could be more confusing is if a younger Robin Tunney was in this. Overall something feels very drained with the story (besides it being a SWF rip-off). I mean, wealthy girl has family issues, mental illness, and becomes obsessed with her down-to-earth friend from school. This has most elements of a movie dealing with a psycho young woman. You'd think crazy might lead to some original ideas once in a while.
