Now this is an awesome trailer. It sets up and sells The Fighter perfectly as a riveting, worthwhile boxing drama. Paramount just debuted a new "promo reel", essentially a flashier trailer, on IGN (via The Playlist) for David O. Russell's The Fighter that features a rather intense training-montage-like look at Mark Wahlberg as boxer Mickey Ward. I've already seen the movie and after watching this promo trailer, I'm already pumped up to go see it again! It really is a great boxing movie, I wouldn't say better than Rocky, but it's definitely something you should check out this holiday. In the meantime, watch this promo reel below!

A look at the early years of boxer 'Irish' Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him in the mid-80s.
The Fighter is directed by David O. Russell, of Spanking the Monkey, Flirting with Disaster, Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees as well as the never-released project Nailed previously. Russell took over the project after Darren Aronofsky dropped out a few years ago. The script was co-written by Paul Tamasy (Air Bud, Walking Across Egypt) and first-timer Eric Johnson with Scott Silver (Johns, The Mod Squad, 8 Mile). Paramount is bringing The Fighter to limited theaters starting on December 10th with an expansion the following week.

Please see my earlier comments on Mark Wahlberg threads wherein I ask him to bask in the glory of his current activity and opt out of anything with the word Uncharted on it.
