"Who can sell a dick drug better than me?" Fox has debuted a last minute red band trailer on Break.com for their upcoming romantic comedy Love and Other Drugs starring the always charming Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal. Sex sells. Unfortunately, the sex sells part of this trailer makes it look more like your run-of-the-mill comedy than the powerful romantic comedy that this supposedly is. Even his friend/brother/roommate/whoever (Josh Gad) looks annoying. Maybe I'm being too harsh, this doesn't look that bad, but I'm not sure this trailer is going to help much. Follows the relationship between a drug industry salesman and woman he meets on one of his sales calls.
Love and Other Drugs is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Edward Zwick, of films like Glory, Legends of the Fall, Courage Under Fire, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond and Defiance most recently. The script was co-written by Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz (The Last Samurai, "Quarterlife") and Charles Randolph (The Interpreter) and is based on Jamie Reidy's 2005 book "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman". Fox is bringing Love and Other Drugs to theaters everywhere starting Thanksgiving week, on November 24th.

I like Gyllenhaal in comedy, and its Edward Zwick, along with Hathaway...so being a Zwick fan and due to obligation to the three people involved I have to see it. So yeah, thumbs up! IT'S EDWARD ZWICK! EDWARD EFFING ZWICK! even though I hated Glory I'm a Zwick fanboy, so I'm in and he's doing comedy, a first for him.

I insist... I love Anne Hathaway but she is way too thin here, she looks ill. And Jake Gyllenhaal... he is not the masculine kind of guy, he looks so gay he cant play a straight man and make us buy it...

Carlos really man? Broke Back Mountain was 5 years ago man, move on. Gyllenhaal is a great actor, who has proved himself numerous times.

I did indeed beavis, just something about it annoy's me...bad acting perhaps...plus I've seen it about a bajillion times. Hate's a strong word, I probably need to sit down and watch it one last time to see if its grown on me.

Interesting marketing going on with this movie. The first couple trailers made it seem like a romantic drama (if you know what I'm talking about). Now they are marketing it as a sex comedy (which it kind of is).

xerxex - yea, i'll agree the acting wasn't as top-notch as one might expect from people like washington and broderick........but i wouldn't call it horrible. i don't consider it a "must own" (and that's why i don't own a copy) but if it's on tv, i might watch it from time to time.' i was surprised at your "hate" just because i thought the movie did tell a good story. of course - maybe i'm wrong.

Is she supposed to look strung out on real drugs? She "Hath a way" of looking a bit creepy, to me. Eat something or stop taking something, or something.

@15 - nope i i think that's her natural look.......and i find it bizarre as well. i never understood anyone who thought hathaway was good looking.

I think I can answer that beavis. To me Hathaway is not your typical beauty, she has a unique look to her, something curious that hooks us fans. She is captivating.

to each his own xerxex. i certainly don't think everyone should share my opinion - i was just letting dRailer know he wasn't the only one who thinks she looks odd. hey - was you able to set through "glory"?.......... or was it still a bad watch for you?

I did indeed watch Glory again, and this time uninterrupted! Better than I previous thought, a lot of my nitpicking was unwarranted. Officially I rank it (on a personal scale) a 7/10.
