Watch: Second New Trailer for Sly Stallone's The Expendables

Lionsgate has debuted a second trailer for Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables, the epic ensemble action film starring nearly every badass actor you can think of (except JCVD). The trailer that debuted in March caused quite a ruckus, especially because it had appearances from Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. But this trailer is quite… frickin' weird… to say the least. It's kind of half teaser, half "we're going to sell the shit out of this film and promise you something you won't see", and then no footage. Let me say that again - no footage. It's just audio from the movie, which sounds cool, and some shiny graphics. Um… Thoughts?

The story follows a team of mercenaries who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.
The Expendables is both written and directed by legendary action actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone, who has also directed Paradise Alley, Rocky 2, 3, and 4, as well as the most recent Rambo movie. This is a Nu Image / Millennium Films production developed by Avi Lerner and Les Weldon. Lionsgate is bringing The Expendables to theaters starting on August 13th later this summer. We first featured a trailer for this back in October of last year but it got pulled, then the official trailer debuted back in March. Still excited?

I love it...I'm so sick of being shown an entire film before I see it. This is perfect because it leaves me wanting much more and the ensemble cast alone is enough to get people into the theater, so I applaud the marketing.

I imagine the first 3 rows of the cinema will be full of big burly men with beards, I think they call them 'bears', this film could top 300 for unintended homo-eroticism. Just putting it out there. Will be good to see all the straight to video stars of my youth killing stuff with guns again.

It's like they forgot they had this trailer and released the other one first instead. Either that, or they accidentally pushed the wrong button and released the other one first, haha. I dig this though.

I haven't seen a trailer this good since the first teaser for The Dark Knight; you know the one with the crumbling bat symbol and nothing else but Bruce's, Alfred's, and the Joker's voices? "People will die. I'm a man of my word. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" That trailer made me feel the same way as this one; edge of my seat, ready to lose myself in explosions and fistfights, and ready for non-stop action! And #10 and 26 are so right. Van Damn would have look AWESOME next to Jet Li and Jason Statham!
