It's Twilight week which means not only is that movie (probably) going to set some new box office records, but all the other studios are going to make sure they get their movies marketed to the crowds that will be out in droves this weekend. Universal has debuted a second new trailer for Charlie St. Cloud, the sappy, sad romantic drama starring Zac Efron based on Ben Sherwood's novel. I actually prefer the first trailer on this one, as this just feels like they're overselling the intimate moments and telling pretty much the whole story in the trailer. Plus, the music choices in this aren't great either. But if you're still interested, check this out.
Watch the second new trailer for Burr Steers' Charlie St. Cloud from YouTube:
Charlie St. Cloud is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Burr Steers, of only Igby Goes Down (in 2002) and 17 Again (with Efron) previously. The screenplay was co-written by Craig Pearce (Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!) and Lewis Colick (Bulletproof, October Sky, Beyond the Sea, Ladder 49). It's based on Ben Sherwood's novel "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud." Universal is bringing Charlie St. Cloud to theaters starting on July 30th this summer. This should definitely draw crowds this summer.

I'm proud of Efron cause he is one of those who broke away from what made him a star without getting too big a head about it. Maybe he decided that it is literally big enough already. lol.

his dead brother speaks the truth, pizza is delicious. but good for Efron, he's at that turning point in his career where its going to show what hes truly capable of, acting wise. hopefully for him anyways.

Efron has to work hard to make sure the taint of High School Musical wont stick on him forever...

The way the other trailer for this was cut was quite different. It sort of made out that the younger brothers ghost was a bit peeved at Efron for liking the girl. This is a doable film. Reminds me of a movie from the 80's. I think Efron will escape the HSM kack I suppose he already has.

it's amazing to me how this site can be a pumped about a piece of crap like Megamind but think this trailer is somehow overdoing it on emotion (tho i agree that it gave a little too much away of the plot. i hate it when trailer do that)

The smell of HSM is gone for me. I feel he's finally getting that he can't be that person if he wants a long career. Good for him. The movie looks better then most chick flicks. I'll take the girl to it and win brownie points. YaaaY brownies.

I really like the fact that he's getting to show his diversity by being in musicals, comedy and drama. Not many actors are able to pull that off or have the opportunity to do so. This type of movie isn't my thing, but I think he'll make it worth watching and I hope I'm not disappointed.
