Watch: Teaser for Ruairi Robinson's 'Blinky™' with Max Records

Whoa - another surprisingly great teaser to check out. SlashFilm posted a trailer today, originally found by Bloody-Disgusting, for an indie film called Blinky™. Yes, that ™ is actually a part of the official title, but that's hard to add everywhere, so we're just going to call it Blinky. The film was originally titled Bad Robot, but had to change for obvious reasons, and stars Where the Wild Things Are's young Max Records. It's a "story of a boy and his robot," but as you can tell by watching this fantastic teaser, it looks like his metallic friend might be going corrupt fairly soon. I love how creepily this trailer hints at its descent into madness.
Watch an early teaser trailer for Ruairi Robinson's Blinky™:
Blinky™ is the creation of Irish filmmaker Ruairi Robinson, an up-and-coming director with a few shorts in his filmography, including the Oscar nominated Fifty Percent Grey. Robinson wrote and directed this as his feature debut. Early on he was attached to Warner Bros' live-action Akira, but I think they wanted someone with a bit more experience, so Robinson focused on a smaller film as his first feature. This was shot mostly in/around Los Angeles and is already finished filming, so we might see it at Sundance or another upcoming festival. I think this looks pretty damn interesting, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it. Thoughts?

Agreed with #12. I thought it was going to be a child's film from the picture but after watching the teaser I realized it's the next Chucky movie. Every other 80's horror movie is getting a remake, might as well add this one to the list.

My diagnosis is his hard drive must be corrupted. But then again some robots just have bad oil running through them from day one. Makes `em a bit glitchy, or should I say PSYCHO?! Looks creepy as all out hell! I'm sending my robot back to the factory to be scapped, first thing tomo..... ACK!!! ARGH!!! GURGH!!!

Looks like it'll be a nice creepy little flick. Glad Max Records didn't just fall off the planet like a lot of other child actors do. He's one of the best young actors I've seen in a long time. Of course, Spike Jonze is an excellent director as well, so he was probably half the reason his acting in Wild Things was so good, but he was great in that flick either way. His IMDB didn't show anything for a long time, so it's good he landed another decent looking role. /where the wild things are was one of last year's best imo...
