The Social Network Teaser Trailer

Columbia Pictures has debuted the first teaser trailer for David Fincher's The Social Network on social networking blog Mashable, the perfect place to show it. Don't get too excited though, as the trailer features nothing but text and audio, but it does sound very intense. There's a lot of good sound clips here and I think Sony is really trying to play up the epicness and seriousness of the whole movie, but damn do some of those lines sound cheesy. "The question is: who are they going to send it to?" I'm still looking forward to this, I'd rather see Fincher's usual gorgeous cinematography accompanying all this ominous audio. Watch below.

Watch the first teaser trailer for David Fincher's The Social Network from YouTube:

The Social Network is directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker David Fincher, of superb films like Alien 3, Se7en, The Game, Fight Club, Panic Room, Zodiac and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button previously. The script was written by screenwriter and producer Aaron Sorkin, of A Few Good Men, "The West Wing", and Charlie Wilson's War previously. It's based on Ben Mezrich's novel titled The Accidental Billionaires, about the founding of Facebook: "A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal." Sony is bringing The Social Network to theaters starting on October 1st this fall. For more info and updates, visit the official website.

That was dumb... and it wasn't even worth posting on my Facebook.

Unfortunately, I read the Sorkin draft so this trailer gave me absolutely nothing new to intrigue me any further. Fortunately, I read the Sorkin draft so I don't need a trailer to sell me on the film any further. And with Fincher directing it's easily in my top 5 most anticipated movies of the year. (Inception, Scott Pilgrim, Tree of Life and Black Swan)

This is still one of my most anticipated movies of the fall, but I have to admit that trailer was pretty damn cheesey. I still trust Fincher to deliver though.

The end of it was a bit awkward, but it was pretty effective.

Honestly I thought it was brilliant! this WILL be the movie to beat at the Oscars.

Yeah a little bit but Eisenberg is a better actor i think. You should really watch Rodger Dodger Nethanel its his best film. By the sounds of this trailer Eisenberg might be braking from that "same acting" bug. I still dont see how Facebook was made into a movie before Myspace. Wasn't MySpace the first big social networking site like that?

Disappointing. I was hoping for more, even though it was just the teaser.

If this is the teaser, why did a see a "real" trailer, for this on TV, while I was watching Wimbledon yesterday. I don't get it...

I feel Michael Cera are a more honest actor than Eisenberg. Eisenberg sort of bugs me, Cera I want to hang out with.

Ive never seen Zodiac but after that atrocity panic room, I was a little finchered out BB was ok but not the best, but that "trailer" was horrible.

I thought it was superb for a teaser.

The only reason this isn't completely lame is because Fincher is involved. News flash...the guy behind Facebook isnt a genius. The site is glitchy and full of bugs. The idea isn't even that clever...he just happened to make something even less shitty than MySpace.

@12 you're an idiot

I know it's only a teaser, but in general I hate teaser trailers because they make me want more. And I don't wanna want more. It's frustrating to wait. I'm right where they want me.

This is a big misery to Fincher's fan after seven, game, fight club,he made zodiac, then Benjamin and now "Social Network"! where is going fincher? i think we must wait for worst...im really sorry! fincher please wake up! we love you man!

I hate to say it, but this "sounds" lame. The concept from say one has sounded lame. My how Fincher has fallen.

what i think a lot of you are kinda missing is that this is about the behind the music that went on with facebook's inception and rise, lots of back door shenaniginns, plus after squid and the whale, this kid gets a pass from me on what he does, that preformance sold me on him, and adventureland is kinda great, i say this with it playing non stop on the movie channels at the present time so i have managed to catch it a few times, not as great as say almost famous, but a pretty sweet coming of age story

Fincher has really only made one truly great movie and that was Zodiac, hes kind of hit or miss i was looking forward to his involvement with the Charles Burns graphic novel Black Hole but now i don't know anymore after this and Curious Case.

Wow, the music really reminds me of Se7en.

I hated the "epic" feeling they're trying to give us with this, like the guy who invented facebook knew what it would eventually become, that's bs. "The question is: who are they going to send it?", yeah right. Didn't he make this just so he and the rest of the college could rate chicks or something?

this is going to be as bad as the Battleship movie. Why would one ever want to watch a movie about this? Just go read on wikipedia about how Facebook got started. I thought this was common knowledge these days on how it all got started. Boring. Pass.

Wow..that was actually a great teaser. Much more dramatic than I expected. When I first heard the idea, I was not excited, although I love Fincher as a director. Now I am looking forward to seeing more on this movie. Also, Eisenburg can beat the acting pants off of Cera any day

this trailer actually was effective on me. sounds pretty cool, but i like trailers that don't show you the entire movie

This guy is talented and this movie looks interesting, the music is awesome though.

Looking back at these comments, I couldn't not believe how bad the internet is at predicting failures. This movie was great. And it's getting rave reviews from top movie critics also. Open your eyes and live a little. Everything doesn't HAVE TO suck...
