On the latest episode of Glee last night, Universal debuted the very first TV spot for Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Following the latest awesome trailer, I was hoping there would be extra footage, and there definitely was, as this 50-second spot is packed with new jokes, new footage, and plenty more to make you excited for this comic book adaptation. I can't wait for this, one of my most anticipated movies, I just hope Universal knows what they're doing marketing it, because I'm worried this is going to be another Edgar Wright movie that no one sees in theaters. Anyway, I think I'm in love with Ramona Flowers, too!
Watch the first official TV spot for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World:
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is directed by brilliant British filmmaker Edgar Wright, of cult classics Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz previously. The screenplay was written by Edgar Wright and actor Michael Bacall and is based on the Oni Press comic book series of the same name. The story follows a Canadian boy named Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) who must defeat his new girlfriend's (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil exes in order to win her heart. We've been following this since it was announced and as a fan of the comic books, I'm very excited. Universal is bringing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to theaters everywhere on August 13th!

I love Edgar Wright and the Scott Pilgrim comics and I'm not sure if this movie will be sucessful or not. Probably won't. I'll enjoy it no matter what.

Kick-Ass was excellent. This looks a little quirkier, but still very good. I think it'll be great, but appeal to a smaller audience. Which, doesn't bother me because I think it'll appeal to me.

#5 jacksonlee you are absolutely right. I watched kick-ass and was so upset at how bad it was. I loved the comics and the trailers were great.. but then the movie was poor. But THIS looks LEGENDARY. I'm a big fan of Scott Pilgrim and I love Edgar Wright. PERFECT MATCH!

Kick-Ass was OK, but not as epic as some want it to be. This looks cool.

I don't understand the comparisons with Kick Ass. I've read the comic...there is like nothing in common between the two. This movie is much more like Nick and Norah than Kick Ass. There are no super heroes. There's no crime fighting. It's just a normal dude in love with a normal girl. And then every once in a while something crazy happens that is then treated as if it's totally normal. The comic is so random and awesome, the movie should be to. And I liked Kick Ass...but this is not Kick Ass or anything even related.

Honestly, who gives a flying fuck if the movie is successful or not! It's awesome regardless. The music rocks and the intro gave me chills!
