Watch This: First Iron Man 2 TV Spot from Kids' Choice Awards
Nail it! Paramount has debuted the first TV spot for Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 tonight during the Kids' Choice Awards on Nickelodeon (video via TheMovieBox). Looks like Marvel really is trying to be as family friend or family appealing as possible with this franchise. That said, this movie looks better and better the more we see and the closer we get to release. I'm sure new digital effects shots are coming in every day; we get just a glimpse of each of them in every new bit of footage. The trailers both looked great but now we're down to the last month or so until this hits. I love that Nick Fury's role has been expanded, too. Excited?
Watch the first TV spot for Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2:
Iron Man 2 takes place only six months after Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) revealed his identity as Iron Man at the end of the first movie. Mickey Rourke stars as a powerful new Russian villain named Whiplash.
Iron Man 2 is directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Jon Favreau, who previously directed Made, Elf, Zathura, and the first Iron Man. The screenplay for this was also written by an actor, Justin Theroux, who became a screenwriter a few years ago and co-wrote Tropic Thunder's script. Paramount will be bringing Iron Man 2 to theaters everywhere starting on May 7th, 2010 this summer. See everyone in theaters in May for this!

Da Man on Mar 28, 2010
Looks good but.......I'm wondering if this is venturing into cheesy teritorym with the donut thing and the "you can have your suit back" line. I really don't want this one to loose the bad ass quatlity of the first one. but it is a kids choice awards spot so i'll let it slide. It still looks awesome though

@6 dom I think that line was the greatest of 'em all. Very amusing.

Looks good but I agree it might be heading towards cheese.

I enjoyed the first one but it seems like these movies are going down the old batman and spiderman movie trail. "Let's see how many villains we can cram into one movie!" and I could also do without women trying to be badasses. The only thing that will make me want to see this is Robert Downey Jr... he's hilarious on and off screen.

i am sure i will see it but i am not as excited maybe because i have seen IM 1 and this one does'nt look that much different TLA Looks much better
nelson on Mar 28, 2010
Too cheesy? you forget that this spot is playing in front of the kids choice awards, that demographic enjoys those kind of jokes.
max on Mar 28, 2010
I swear when RDJ is sitting in the donut his bottom half was a mocap suit during set previews. So good job ILM!

Hype is gonna kill this movie.
Cody w on Mar 28, 2010
I agree with Cody w, the hype machine is a horrible thing, just look at Avatar, The Dark Knight (Yes its a little over-hyped), Kick-Ass is starting to push it, and Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Cheast/At Worlds End, but regardless I'm gonna see Ironman 2 and I will enjoy it!
Xerxex on Mar 28, 2010
@ Xerxex "...the hype machine is a horrible thing" How so? It's called marketing and if you had an education you'd know that its what movie studios do - you know, in order to get their stuff in the public eye.
Hellboy on Mar 28, 2010
Is anyone else a tad bored of samuel l jackson now??? every time i see him in a new role, it just seems to be ever more tacky and over the top. i mean..... star wars xxx2 jumper the spirit snakes on a plane come on!!! The last GOOD thing he did other than narrate "inglorious basterds" was a voice over in "the incredibles" HE NEEDS A NEW AGENT!!! Or to only pick up the phone when Tarantino calls. Anyone agree?
scotty on Mar 29, 2010
Way to be an uncalled for d-bag Hellboy, It was just an opinion and yes to a lot of people thought TDK and Avatar were waaaay overhyped, doesnt mean they werent good or didnt make money its just means that they were blown way outta proportion before hand and didnt live up to what all your marketing made it out to be.. People are way to quick to jump on the insult/smartass train instead of just having a mature conversation.

Hello I am 45 year old comic books fan. I don't like suir of ironman in Ironman 2 cause in comics suit is very dark res and in movie it is light red. I don't like how ironman flies in the movie because in the comics it is diffrent i m 45 year old fart who reads comics and comes on internet and talk about movies based on comics we comic book nerds are so awesome
comicbooknerd on Mar 29, 2010
This flick will ROCK! 🙂
Spider on Mar 29, 2010
I don't like style of tony stark's beard in the movie cause in the comics it is diffrent Also in the comics Iroonman suit is bigger and better screw hollywood for ruinning my love for comics
comicbooknerd on Mar 29, 2010
@26. Nothing wrong with comic book nerds mate but dude, come on! Pretty sure Tony has had several beard styles in 40-50 years, likewise the suit colour has changed quite a bit... if we were gonna be totally faithful he'd be in the original old school red and yellow one for years yet. Also, the flying? Really? 'cause i'm pretty sure that's exactly the same. Bigger and better? I honestly haven't got a clue what you're on about there. This movie looks awesome and as for ruining the comics? Never brought that argument. A lot of the movies, Spidey 1 and 2, X-men 1 and 2, Dark Knight, Iron Man, Daredevil (although that's just me) really capture and improve on the comic's feel, ultimately don't like them? Don't watch.
Dude... on Mar 29, 2010
24: TDK didnt live up to marketing? it made like a billion dollars domestic and earned the first big time academy award for a comic book film i'd call that a success, even if it let your fanboy standards down.

#23 I agree...............that Samuel has not been his usual self of late....but EXIT THE DOUGHNUT! is a pretty funny line, all in all this film is shaping up to be as much fun as the first, and as much as it irks me to go into Comic Book Geek Mode, Samuel is most definitely the model Brian Hitch uses for Nick Fury in the Ultimates (Avengers) for Marvel. Oh and by the way...one thinks one could use the odd capital letter for people's names and titles of film, and YOU can't use Morphine as an excuse.
Barry on Mar 29, 2010
@28 i disgaree in comics tony stark's suit is dark red in movie it is light color they are ruinning my passion for comics
comicbooknerd on Mar 29, 2010
this film is not yet rated. that possibly means that it could end up being pg because of fantasy violence
paul on Mar 30, 2010
EVERY movie nowadays is "over-hyped". Studios aren't going to risk money "underhyping" a movie. And most of those movies lived up to the hype, even exceeding it.
Governor on Mar 30, 2010
Lol, this looks horribly cheesy. The terrible one-liners, cartoony characters. Hell, the Iron Man Armor in a Briefcase is pretty much Batman & Robin-level camp.
