First Unofficial Trailer for Joe Carnahan's The A-Team Leaks
by Alex Billington
January 8, 2010
Source: SlashFilm
Apparently this trailer wasn't supposed to be online until later this weekend, but the first official trailer for The A-Team has ended up online, courtesy of The Film Stage. You better catch this quick or else it's going to be gone and we're going to have to wait until it's officially released this weekend. The A-Team stars D9's Sharlto Copley, Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, Patrick Wilson & Jessica Biel. Yes, this looks as badass (just about as badass as badass can be) as you're expecting it should, which is just awesome. They parachute out in a freakin' tank? Oh hell yes! "I love it when a plan comes together." Enjoy!
Watch the first trailer for Joe Carnahan's The A-Team:
This Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, Pride and Glory) directed and Michael Brandt / Derek Haas (Wanted) written adaptation of the 1980's TV show is about a group of ex-Army Special Forces who work as soldiers while being on the run from the military for a crime they didn't commit. Starring as the elite A-Team are: Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Liam Neeson as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as Sgt. Bosco "B.A." Baracus. 20th Century Fox has already set a June 11th, 2010 release date next year. What did you think of the new trailer?

Did that last scene show Bradley Cooper shooting down a plane from a tank as it is being parachuted down?? Thought so....pass! I'll probably catch the DVD.

Looks like a fun ride. Though for the Mr. T role they should have cast that big guy who played the President in Idiocracy. That guy is absolutely ripped and he's hilarious.

So you say it's badass, huh? I believe in Alex Billington, so I'm probably going to see this.

Since there's (two) Jessica Biels, staring in the movie (re-read the first paragraph), that's the ONLY reason I'd watch this. Or I can wait ten years and pick up the DVD, in a bin somewhere, for $3.99.

No dididididi din di din din din din din!? Used to watch that show most saturday afternoons at my grans house, it's nearly as daft as the Iron Man origin in the film, but some how it was quite amusing for an 8 year old. Looked okay til the flying tank, they should have saved that for the cinema.

That end scene was the final nail in the coffin. No thanks. I'll stick with the original. HH

Hahahah this could be either intentionally cheesy rediculously over the top amazing, or a complete way TOO over the top rediculous disaster. But I gotta say I barely even noticed that was Copley there for a second, that guy has a seriously amazing acting career ahead of him.

well i really wanted to get all hyped with this trailer but i think gotta wait for a better quality one. but my main concern they went a bit over the line action scenes and kinda negated the first half of the trailers positive waves. i kinda felt i was rewatching Charlies Angels 2 the cast is pretty solid especially liked hannibal and BA Baracus 😀 Face could have been better its not bad but could be better and murdock i couldnt get the crazy shithead pilot from him too 😀 but then again seing that Black red striped hell on wheel and the soundtrack should be enough to bring back some good old memories 😀 we ll wait and see 😀

The cheesy original worked only as a kids show so I can see that the tone in this movie is very similar. Still looks like a disaster waiting to be released.

God most people cannot enjoy a movie for what it simply is? The A-Team will be a fun action movie. Just take it for what it is. The cast in great Liam Neeson, and Bradley Cooper and act, Sharlto Copley is a good up and runner, as for Rampage Jackson well we'll see.

I hope they write Rampage some good stuff 'cause the guy's hilarious in real life.

I totally agree with Nelson, don't you people remember the show? in every episode they ended up fabricating tanks and booby traps, from scraps in whatever farm they were saving that week. This looks about as ridiculous as the show would have been if they had the same budget. This won't win any awards, so don't treat it like a serious movie.Enjoy the explosions, laugh at the jokes and eat your fuckin popcorn.

It's the A-Team people, of course it's going to be over the top action. I used to watch it back in the 80's, but it's something cool when you're 10 years old or younger, watched it in the mid 90's and I wondering what the hell was I thinking. (just like Dukes of Hazzard) Dont expecting it to be on the top 10 of the year list, but they casted it well. I'll check it out for the hell of it.
Nasty Nate on Jan 8, 2010

@ Theotherbluth, I think imagination is dying for those who can't buy a tank parachuting and destroying a jet, but thankfully some can!

Ravster, don't be upset. Alex was so excited when writing the post he mentions Jessica Biel's name twice and notes that 20th Century Fox has already set a June 11th, 2010 release date next year. So what did we celebrate on January 1st?

I'm not a big fan of the tv-series... but I honestly think that this would have benefitted from having MrT return to that roll. I think fans and general moviegoers would have dug that trailer and the film more. WOuld have been a smart and cool choice.

I Think the majority of the comments are from people who weren't even a twinkle in their dad's eye when the Origiinal A-Team series was on TV - so should just enjoy the trailer while sucking on their pacifiers. In todays action ridden cinema where almost every action scene tries to better the last - we are talking about The A-Team. The Best and The Baddest - whatever and however they do it, is fine with me. @ 3. Yes it was a Tank - enjoy the DVD, at home, with your mum. @ 4. In what Universe does Terry Crews even remotely represent even a shadow of the B.A Character. @ 6. Is that when you'll also be rooting around the bins for scraps of food and clothes? Ass. @ 11. I Blame the crystal Meth your mum smoked while they were pregnant with you, hence your spelling issue. @ 16. You tell 'em! @ 20. Tobi? really, is that your name. Your parents must really love you.

@ taro baap is that your real name,& to answer your question of course it's not it's just a user name from anime & manga i like called naruto, & the a-team trailer like the tv show of the 80's is still a load of bollocks.

Awesome trailer. Sharlto Copley as Murdock is freakin' perfect!! Alex, I never do this, but the way you worded your summary post trailer, you made it sound like Carnahan directed "Pride and Glory" as well - he only wrote the screenplay....

It reminded me too much of how cheesy GI Joe was so so far I think I hate it. If Rampage was gonna bail on UFC he should do it for a good movie at least.

That looks like the biggest stinking pile of shit! The only reason I would even consider this (dvd or on tv when it premiers) would be to watch it for Scharlto Copley.

I had high hopes for this....being a huge fan of The A Team growing up in the 80's...and i thought the casting was great (perhaps Rampage Jackson being the only weak link)...but that last shot of the parachuting tank (WTF??) has put this in the G.I Joe school of shit blockbusters! Up to that point the trailer was a little underwhelming but i cut it some slack because its the first peak at the film. Dont get me wrong...if it comes out and everyone is giving it rave reviews then ill be a happy man and...but right now im just afraid that Hollywood has ruined another great opportunity to make an awesome film with sloppy writing and bad CGI!!!

A lot of people will go out and see this film and compare it to the TV series of the 80s. Scharlto Copley may pull it off as Murdock, Liam Neeson as John Hannibal Smith sounds right. I wonder if there is a cameo from Mr T at all it would be nice not bad for a first trailer hope there is a better trailer forthcoming.

Bruce Willis was first considered for the role of Hannibal Smith. Common, Ice Cube and The Game were all rumored for the role of BA Baracus. Although Liam Neeson looks like a good choice for Hannibal Smith.
