Watch This: First Trailer for Lionsgate's 3D Alpha and Omega
Lionsgate hasn't had much luck with animated movies (e.g. Happily N'Ever After) but they're still trying to find a formula that works and a story that audiences enjoy. Due out in theaters this fall is another new 3D animated movie from Lionsgate called Alpha and Omega about two mismatched wolves who, obviously, end up together due to some crazy circumstance. The voice cast includes Justin Long, Hayden Panettiere, Dennis Hopper, Christina Ricci, Christine Lakin and Danny Glover. This looks like it'll be a lot of fun with charming story, but not anything up to the level of Pixar. Anyway, give it a chance & check this out. Enjoy!
Watch the official trailer for Crest Animation's Alpha and Omega:
Alpha and Omega is co-directed by animation filmmakers Anthony Bell (of "Duckman", "Rugrats", "The Boondocks") and Ben Gluck (of Man's Best Friend and Disney's Brother Bear 2). The screenplay was written by Chris Denk of Shark Bait, Bats: Human Harvest and Happily N'Ever After 2 previously. This is a Crest Animation and Lionsgate Studios co-production. Lionsgate will be bringing Alpha and Omega to theaters everywhere in glorious 3D starting on September 17th this fall. Anyone interested in checking this out?

You accidentally put a "c" in front of "harming." This looks flat-out horrible. The animation looks... off. Some of the characters look alright except all of the wolves look poorly designed to me, and that appears to be the focus of the story. Come to think of it, I'm looking hard to give this any positive remark. Nope, can't do it.
dRailer on May 24, 2010
...um, thanks I'll stick to Balto. That is the only wolf film I'll watch. I mean it looks pretty decent, but it also looks pretty flat. I'll check it out, but not in theaters (also what point does a wolf film have in a 3-D setting?)

not impressed... more... annoyed if anything... that trailer was bad... if they think mentioned that it'll be in 3d will make the movie better... don't think so...

Lionsgate can only mean FAIL.

It seems like they stole Pixar's idea for Newt and then rushed the story into production to beat them to the punch. The animation in the first Toy Story looked better than this film. I hope this isn't the reason Pixar canceled Newt because this looks like garbage...
peloquin on May 24, 2010
Seriously, there was so many butt jokes, they had to make a joke about butt jokes. And... although I like 3D when it's done well, the stupid goose golf shot at the end was put in there just to shamelessly whore out the "3D thrill". Crap. Reminds me of the freakin' flaming tire in Final Destination. Until garbage like that disappears 3D won't get any respect. This'll be pretty much straight to DVD.
Gonnarentit on May 24, 2010
looks awful. bad character designs, bad animation, flat details.

What a refreshing movie from other studio after long long time!!! This is the movie i wanna see. pixar and dreamworks, blue sky, disney is using extremely upgraded technology which is not necessary. In their movie Surface, texture, skin etc. are looking extremely smooth and slippery. No surface is 100% smooth and no surface is 100% rough. These companies has forgotten this things. In this movie Alpha and Omega company has done great work. After long long time getting different feeling and environment. Kids will love this movie. It can easily reach box office collection of US$150mn worldwide.

This trailer looks awful, the best bit about this trailer is the Duran Duran's Hungry like the Wolf.
Cineprog on May 25, 2010
I must say, this trailer doesn't look appealing..
moti on May 25, 2010
I'd love to go to the studio where they created this film, have a walk around, wait until everyone who worked there had arrived for the days work and had sat down at their desks, then I'd push the button connected to my explosive vest. Ass butts.

Surprisingly low quality trailer for a 3D movie. I did find some parts appealing like the bears and the night scene. But really I think we should only comment once we see a better quality video. Has anyone seen this in the theaters? I would like to know what it looks like on the big screen.

Hey Guys, Don't jump to conclusion so fast, wait for the movie to release, storyline is def different than normal run of the mill animation movies. Try to appreciate that an Asian co can make a quality movie, with all its shortcomings like skill in English language, technical knowledge and understanding of Hollywood film industry. My only request is, try to see the film objectively without being racist, as u all should realise that making an animation movie is not hollywood's monopoly. Amen.

Crest Animation and Lionsgate has done amazing , extraordinary and great work in Budget of US$25mn. What a refreshing movie from other studio after long long time!!! This is the movie i wanna see. pixar and dreamworks, blue sky, disney is using extremely upgraded technology which is not necessary in some areas , it kills the environment of the movie. In their movie Surface, texture, skin etc. are looking extremely smooth and slippery. No surface is 100% smooth and no surface is 100% rough. These companies has forgotten this things. @ 17. I'm not racist, I hate you all. Oh and racism has nothing to do with the fact that this trailer looks horrible. The animation is a throwback to some of the first CG I had seen. REST IS OFF TOPIC: @ 11 & 20. Please don't repost you're opinion twice after doing some research and finding out the animation studios name. It's annoying. @ 15. Please, for the love of god.. add more letters to your words. English is not for the feint of heart, texting != typing.

Worst animaton? are you kiding me? animation is OK its not the best thing in the word, but come on, seriously you wanna Avatar or what? who cares for a animiation as long if stroy is good
gfdgd on May 25, 2010
i hear a lot of qualms about the animation, which for the record by most peoples standards it would be considered "fine" my major qualm is that it doesnt seem endearing or funny, and yes everybody can moan about "oh but you havent seen it yet" but the point of a trailer is to encourage people to see it, or am i just thoroughly confused at their purpose.

Seriously, Born to be Wild and Hungry Like the Wolf? Gee wonder how long it took to think that up. Writer "I have a great idea. Let's make a animated movie about a wolf and each scene will have music that sort of, somehow relates to wolves or things outside. " Studio "I think we have a winner!" Kids may like this but I doubt it.

Company has not released HD trailer. HD trailer will be 10 times better then this. Whatever critics and peoples speak , write about movie....... Something tells me that cmax works for the studio because I've never heard someone try to justify terrible looking animation with absolutely no detail as passionately as he just did (not to mention his broken English which tells me they outsourced the work in order to cut corners and save $). I've created more realistic looking textures and fluid movement using Maya and zBrush on my home pc so don't blame the technology.

And thats enough for me. I am sharehoder of company in India. Crest will become multibagger stock. E....ho............
cmax on May 26, 2010
Couldn't even finish the trailer. The animation looks god awful, the voice acting in the trailer is spotty, and it seems like 3 different people are playing Omega, and to top it off it's just Homeward Bound with wolves, and I'd rather see the remake from the 90s with Michael J Fox. Forget this movie.
Kent Lundblad on May 26, 2010
I read all of the reviews before I watched the trailer so I was expecting something really really awful. This does not look bad at all, it is made for kids you know. I wonder if the people are reviewing it for themselves or for kids to watch. Kids will like it.
Sharon on May 26, 2010
I love how people keep saying "it's for the kids" as if that means the quality can be lowered. Yes, it is true that if you give kids some crayons for an hour they'll be happy, but that doesn't mean they'll remember the experience. I watched a lot of cartoons as a kid and the ones that stick out are still instant classics today. This will be something that kids will watch and enjoy, but it won't be remembered like Up or How to Train your Dragon. This is instantly forgettable and to say "it's for the kids" just insults the children of the world like they can be fed any garbage by their parents and come out "liking" it. I can give me daughter a spoon to keep her busy for hours...
peloquin on May 26, 2010
does anyone else think that a lusty male wolf for a main character is a bad idea for influence on kids? i dunno...

I have seen preview of Alpha and Omega in theatre. Movie looks Amazing and cOOl in 3D. Watch HD trailer on youtube with 1080 pixels. Space Chimp has done worldwide box office collection of US$60mn. Alpha and Omega is 100% better then Space Chimps and number of live action movies released and releasing in 2010 in USA. Alpha and Omega will reach box office collection of US$80mn worldwide easily. What a refreshing movie from other studio after long long time!!! This is the movie i wanna see. In this movie Alpha and Omega company has done great work. After long long time getting different feeling and environment. Kids will love this movie. N......Jo............ KIDS..................E.....ho................

ok cmax whats with the spam? you really think people are going to be swayed by it? also i agree the tired old line of "Just for the kids" is lazy, yes you can make something they will see once and forget or you can make something good which they will see again (dvd) and want memories of i.e merchandise

solid story, cool action and great animation. glad to see pixar, dwa and sony are not the only ones in this space anymore. love it!

Alpha and Omega looks extremely great on 3D Screen. I have watched preview. Kids are enjoying like CRAZY !!!
timecop on May 28, 2010
The best part of that trailer was when it ended. Come on ... I think kids are too smart these days to be sucked in by something as dumb as this, well hopefully. I don't even know what the moral of this story is supposed to be.
TwoHumpedCamel on May 28, 2010
When i went for Shrek , I also watched preview in 3D. Alpha and Omega looks excellent on 3D Screen. There is already heavy shortage of animation content. Everyday Kids and peoples want more and more entertainmet. It is not possible to get Shrek and Avatar everyday so I think Alpha and Omega is extremely best option to entertain ourselves.
Zoomanji on May 28, 2010
Wow...I am so sick of the spamming from all you broken English fuckers. This films looks terrible and will not make any money compared to all the far better content that "kids" have to choose from. You forget that it doesn't matter what kids think because it's parents (like me) who will ultimately be deciding what they want their children to see. I hope this films bomb so you're all out of jobs and can stop trying to cloud these forums with an obviously biased opinion. Alex, please do something about this, these forums are for people who have a genuine opinion on a film, not some people who produced it trying to up their sales.

I am Cmax, Timecop , Zoomanji and Sakimato. Guys you all are true. Alpha and Omega is dumbest and horrible movie. As a sharehoder of Crest first i have not been able to accept reality but now i have exited Crest. Thanks for great help all guys. Lionsgate has hired 50 persons to cheat Kids by posting good comments about Alpha and Omega. Kids doesnt deserve this horrible movie. Kids deserve Finding Nemo , Kung Fu Panda , Ice Age , BOLT , How to train your dragon. Todays Kids are smart. They know about quality. Kids will not go for this horrible movie. Comment 41 is from Lionsgates hired person. He is also posting on youtube.

I'm a bit confused here. Is it the animation part that is bad ? Or is it the character design part ? Or rendering ? But actually there are even worst movies will be out in near future. So...

Just got back from seeing movies, and all negative posts about trailer could be justified after watching whole movie. This just plain STUNK! Animation was bad and the storyline was phoned in at best. 3d was comparable to watching a view master. All around terrible, waste of a $13 ticket. And yes, 5yr old also did not like movie
Tye on Sep 18, 2010
Me and my brother just watch this movie. It was very very dry with a cliche' storyline. Predictable Characters complimented with jerky animation the only enjoyable part of watching this movie was making fun of how abysmal it was. At the beginning the little skirmish with the opposing wolf packs was animated so terribly i couldn't stop from laughing. It was like your first time and when that "package" comes out and your like , "Is that it?" I first thought maybe it was just us then i looked up reviews directly after seeing it and sure enough it was total shit. That paid blogger that talks about rough and smooth textures has no idea what hes blogging about. Dreamworks and Pixar may not be the only people who can produce WATCHABLE content but the reason they are the most highly regarded is because they are the best at what they do. The only reason i finished this movie was because I thought that there was a bat chance in hell that the poor little omega would get laid and they kind of implied that on the train scene. What I'm trying to say is this movie was terrible. don't support, it don't watch, it don't contract A.I.D.S. from it, stay away or the terrorists win.
