Lionsgate has debuted a UK trailer for Philip Ridley's Heartless, starring Jim Sturgess as a gangster in East London who is tricked into a deal with a demon and must fight to save his soul. As well as Sturgess, the cast includes Eddie Marsan, Timothy Spall, Noel Clarke, and the always beautiful Clémence Poésy. I first heard about this project two years ago and we're now just finally seeing a trailer for it. Unfortunately it doesn't look that good. I don't know where the story is going or what's happening, but I guess it doesn't look terrible. I like Sturgess enough to see any movie with him in it. Check it out and let us know what you think?
Watch the official international trailer for Philip Ridley's Heartless from YouTube:
A contemporary Faust themed story about Jamie Morgan (Jim Sturgess), a young man with a large heart-shaped birthmark on his face, who discovers that there are demons living on the streets of East London.
Heartless is both written and directed by British filmmaker and playwright Philip Ridley, of The Reflecting Skin and The Passion of Darkly Noon previously. This was shot in East London back in 2008. Lionsgate is bringing Heartless to theaters in the UK in May, but they don't have a US distributor nor an official release date here yet. Stay tuned for more updates on Heartless as they arrive. Anyone interested in seeing it?

does Sturgess get his ass kicked in every movie? Fifty Dead Men Walking, 21, and Across The Universe just to name a few, Guys a pretty good actor. Was that Eddie Marsan? This looks fucking awesome, These movie always pique my interest it looks like a psychological thriller and thats a good thing! Count me in!

This is a bit different then his other roll in 21. So I give him a lot of credit. Like you said, I don't know where the story is going. The trailer didn't do justice, it was just a heep of stuff put together. I do like the tone and look of this tho, so thats one reason I will be seeing this..

Yea, I just watched it again last night, his character is the only one who doesn't get his ass kicked by the immigration system (except the Korean boy). Makes me wonder when Wayne Kramer is going to announce a new project, such an underrated film maker.

Another hoodie drug dealer film............with demons.....but with hoodies........ Strange that much more stuff goes on in Britain apart from teenagers in hooded tops in London. This is a tv film.

it's hard to say at this point..........the scenes in the trailer are very convoluted/disjointed. based on the trailer, i'd give it a rent, at best.

Trailer might not be amazing, but I definitely get a sense that there's a whole other aspect to the film that they didn't want to give away in this trailer. It's piqued my interest, and that's what trailers are supposed to do, right?

Yeah, that looks pretty good, and for a Brit, I'm not really into most "gritty" UK films, but this has a good hook... Nice "Faustian pact" angle too, innit? 😉

Reminds me a little of Midnight Meat Train. The trailer has a Clive Baker feel. 😉 John Stamos

they trailer wasen't that confusing imo. they guy is haveing a hard time cuse of his looks. one "man" finaly comes and give him a change, to look like every one eals. ofc as allways, if you want something you gotta give something back. the "man" is the devil, and the devil wants him to kill ppl. i agree on takeing the packt with the devil, start killing the once he is told to kill. but in all the strange things that happens to him, he manage to find love. he dosen't want to be a killer, he wants to be with his loved one. but he is afraid of what she is going to say about him murdering ppl, and if he quit he is afraid of what she is going to think of his hidiuse face. (every one eals hate it, so in his unsecurness, he dosen't she why she whould hate it too.) and all this feelling is tareing him apart and to madness. // Panda

This film is ace! Saw at the film fest in Leeds last year. Proper good! Very evil. And slightly funny in parts. More than worth a watch! The trailer doesn't give the game away or really give much of insight into how it all sucks you in.
