Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer

"You really don't stand a chance." Warner Bros debuted a very short mini-trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows during the MTV Movie Awards tonight. It's probably a short version of a full-length trailer we're going to see sometime in the next month or two, since the first half of Deathly Hallow is due out in November. It looks like they've decided to continue marketing the entire conclusion as one big finale, without creating a trailer for each different half. As in, there are scenes from both movies in this trailer, as we still don't know where they're going to be ending the first. Anyway, this is very chilling, so check it out!

Watch the MTV trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I:

Voldemort's power is growing. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat Voldemort.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is again directed by British filmmaker David Yates, of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince previously. The script was also written again by Steve Kloves, of Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, and also Half-Blood Prince, but not Order of the Phoenix. This is based on J.K. Rowling's very popular series of books which have already concluded. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part I will arrive in theaters on November 19th later this year!

HP movie and audio book binge here I come. This looks pretty freaking awesome, and I hope this is better than the last two movies and finishes the series on a good note.

Pretty kewl! Waiting for a better one. It would seem the MTV Movie Awards went up a notch their sad attempt at bleeping out swears, Wahlberg and Ferrell with The Rock, Jackson, and Mendes was hilarious, Tom Cruise was great (He's the only reason I watched it! I swear it!). Also Alex you were right, Twilight really did win EVERYTHING proving your point that the awards do suck major Space Balls and they were nowhere near punk!

Xerxex on Jun 7, 2010

15

I guess that's the nature of these films...they're the last ones in the whole series so they can't show too much even though a lot of people know what's gonna happen

Jaf on Jun 7, 2010

16

Damn those MTV movie awards suck cock. Who would have guessed twilight would be the big winner!:O all those fucked up overrated movies. The trailer seems oke, hope they're doing a good job now telling most of the story. Now that they have two movies I kinda believe so

Ive never seen a Harry potter movie...but these trailers and this movie specifically are changing my mind.

it does look chilling............if you're 13 years old. i love fantasy books/movies but i've never been able to see why HP books/ movies are popular - i just don't like them. alex - take #18 loser sales pitch off of the thead and remove the account or you'll have spam ads in EVERY thread.

Honestly, this was my fantasy fix when Harry was a cute little kid, but now, he is weird :/ For those who wants more adult fantasy fix... I recommend Legend of the seeker ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844653/ ) with little of everything (sex, violence and mixture of pain and pleasure, he he just wait to see Mordsith and their little toys named Agiel)

Nice! Looks epic! Absolutely loved the last 2 and can't wait for these. So glad they split last into 2 films.

Legend of the Seeker sucks ass, its not even a movie so why you telling us to watch it. THe Harry Potter movies are few that actually get a lot better with each installment. I really don't get why you poeople are hating on it(little kids version of LOTR? Really? The story is nothing like it and they are adults in the movie so don't compare..)

very nice....This release will save the Fall and Winter of 2010 since this is one of the worst years in recent memory for film.

Clover on Jun 7, 2010

23

@ 20: Have you ever read the series of books that the Legend of the seeker is based on? Its called the Sword of Truth Series. Sooooo much better than the show. Check it out

Congratulations Lizzie, for ruining a Harry Potter thread with mention of that terrrible show. That show is like the murky water that drips from the rusty holes in the corners of dumpsters. #4 Janny, this is not a minime of Lord of the Rings. LOTR takes place in a fictional version of earth, in a dark ages-like time, whereas Harry Potter takes place in modern England. I don't know if this is the first time you are hearing about Harry Potter or not, but you should definitely give the books a try. If you like that magic lore type of fantasy in line with LOTR, you will like Harry Potter also. I used to make fun of friends who were Potterheads, but when I finally gave it a chance, it was addictive to read and to watch on film. Yes, the first couple of books and their film adaptations are for kids around the age of ten or so, but as the series progresses, it gets more mature and covers a larger scope of themes. Mature not in the way that it becomes gory and uberviolent, or sexual, but in the way that the characters deal with increasingly more grave circumstances as they grow up. The author has brilliantly managed to grow the books along with the 12 year old audience that read it originally who are now young adults like myself. If you can take the time to read and watch LOTR and take it seriously, you could definitely do the same with Harry Potter. One of my favorite characters from these movies is Dumbledore, who was played by Richard Harris for the first and second before he passed away, and is now played by Michael Gambon. I hear people bitch about how he isn't a good Dumbledore, but Richard Harris, though a good actor, was way too withered to embody the character. All of the actors do a great job and these movies are worth watching at least twice a piece.

P.S. Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort. Seriously, give it a chance.

Well, it's a land of freedom, so if you do not want to watch Lots, don't. I just recommeded it, geezz, relax. I'm fan of all fantasy related stuff, and last Harry movie was like uber c**p, just MO. @24 Yeah, I read it, and yes, the books are way much better. Won't argue that 🙂

#27 Maybe cause its just not for you, but you dont have to call it BS just because it doesnt align with your opinions.

Cody w on Jun 7, 2010

30

is it me or does it seem like Ralph Fiennes is using more of his raspy voice in clash of the titans as Hades rather than the cold and chilling lord voldemort's voice in previous hp movies?

Not the greatest trailer, but I can't WAIT for the movie, so I got chills anyway. 😉

Ian Carruthers on Jun 7, 2010

32

WOW! It's epic! It's amazing! I've still got chills and can't stop watching it!! I can't believe it's only 54 seconds long! There's so much in that 50 seconds! I seriously can't wait to see these movies! This trailer was the best part of an otherwise terrible show. The fight between Harry and Ron was so INTENSE!! The acting from the trio just gets better and better every time. They're future Oscar winners for sure. And did you see the DRAGON?!!? WOW!!

Gabby on Jun 7, 2010

33

I think #32 just jizzed in his pants, lmao! This teaser trailer did look good, and it had me wanting more, and that's what a trailer is supposed to do; it's supposed to get you excited and leave you with the feeling that you want to see more. I'm not going to go as far as #32 and say that the young actors are future Oscar winners(again, lmfao!), but from this short clip, it does look like the acting has stepped up a little. P.S. Alex, I know your probably not reading this because you're a little bitch, but please don't call this a "trailer" when it's only 50 seconds long. When you said "trailer", I was getting ready for a full-length 2 minute trailer, and instead I got a 50 second teaser. Try not to make that mistake again.

Aaron on Jun 7, 2010

34

OH MY GOD!!!!! The Fall and Winter movie season is saved Hope they end the first part at someplace really good that'll leave you wanting more EXCITED!!!!!!!!!YES understand why these people are hating on Harry Potter. No Anyways the acting is getting better and i like how the series matures instead of just staying at the same level

The books are amazing and I can't wait to see this. As far as the potter movies go, to me they are done really well. Of course I wish that some of the details that are in the book were put on screen in the movie (like alittle bit of the Dumbldore funeral would have been nice) and I realize they have to pick and choose what to put in the film because of time constraints. That being said, it's definitely worth seeing. OH! and one more thing.....READ PEOPLE READ!!! even the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy books were better than the movies.

arjones on Jun 8, 2010

36

@32 Aaron, Who says trailers have to be over 50 seconds? a 2 minute trailer usually reveals too much.

Xerxex on Jun 8, 2010

37

@36, actually a 2 minute trailer doesn't reveal too much, seeing as how that is the average time for a regular trailer, so not sure what point you're trying to make.

they might save it
