Content Film has launched an early teaser trailer, that will only show for 24 hours, on the official website for French director Xavier Gens' new film The Divide. The cast was just announced a few weeks ago and it only started shooting last week, but they had enough finished footage to whip up this badass preview. The Divide stars Michael Biehn, Milo Ventimiglia, Lauren German, Rosanna Arquette and Michael Eklund. The sci-fi thriller is about eight strangers who take refuge in a makeshift fallout shelter in the basement of their apartment after a cataclysmic explosion devastates New York City. You'll definitely want to check this out!
Watch the first early teaser trailer for Xavier Gens' The Divide:
The Divide was originally titled The Fallout and has been shooting in Canada for a little over a week. As you might've been able to see in the teaser, after gathering in the shelter, they're suddenly attacked by men in Hazmat suits until they shove them out and lock the doors, but then paranoia sets in as their sanctuary becomes a living hell. "With twists and turns throughout, and no way of knowing who will make it out alive, The Divide is an action packed psychological thriller that combines Assault on Precinct 13 with Lord of the Flies." Gens last directed video game movie Hitman and the crazy horror film Frontier(s) before that. This looks like it will be pretty frickin' awesome. No release date is set yet and it doesn't have a US distributor.

I hate it when the world is coming to the end, people are fighting for survival and should all be at least bruised and dirty, but then a babe walks into a frame all washed up and made up. Can't stand this anymore.

rec? in what way? no. this is like the the original night of the living dead. the fear wasnt of the zombies, but of the those sitting next to you. looks interesting. as long as this doesnt turn into some I Am Legend crapfest, and they all decide to go outside, it should be fine.

rec? that is NOTHING like rec. i liked the teaser...........but, like #6 says - i hope it doesn't turn into an "i am legend" crapfest. and i'm just asking - was that a robot with a gun at the end?

Not the worlds biggest Hitman fan, but really liked Frontier(s). The sound design (Bells + foghorns) creates such an intense feeling for the film. The opening of the trailer where the sound is kind of muted was awesome and then as they leave the bathroom the screams just jump into the mix, i can only imagine seeing this film in surround sound is going to be amazing. The camera flying down the center of the stairs as the building crumbles was a nice touch, a little bit of that style that was ever so present in the directors other films.

Reminds me of Blindness, a movie with blind ppl locked up in some sort of hospital and divided into two groups, trying to survive.

dude was that the kid from "The Forbidden Kingdom"? This looks nothing like [Rec].

Yeah, this looks like [Rec], The Killing Room, The Cube, The Thing or any other film where people are locked in a room, building or situation. I really feel sorry for people who constantly say one film looks like another, because they must hate 90% of movies.

I like. I'm always up for an Apocolypse / Zombie / Asteroid / Monkey / Viral movie. I can't get enough of 'em. I'll have to check out Frontier(s) now. Never seen it.

I think that was Peter Petrelli in the group that got locked out.

Somewhere there is the mention of "The lord of the flies", that was some disturbing sh*t! The whole concept brings me memories of "28 days later". The original setup was a zombie apocalypsis, but then the twist was the raping attempt of those soldiers. This is another apocalyptic thing with the whole psychological twist within... cool!

@ 14: He was actually locked IN. He's one of the people that flash at the end I believe. That's what I saw atleast.

There is one shot in this trailer that looks like REC and this is what everyone is obsessing over? Come on, people. This is an awesome trailer! There are better things to discuss!

@ malax Blindness is a great movie, but I can't recommend it to folk because it's so messed up. I think the brutality of the people in the film is sadly quite a realistic portrayal of humna beings act in a time of extreme crisis. They don't help each other. What's with the Splinter cell guy at the end? Will watch, looks daft enough. End of the world blah, blah... will watch.

When I saw "From the Director of Hitman" I almost x'ed out of the tab but I finished the trailer and I must say...this looks quite sick.

What the hell...this looks absolutely nothing like rec. No zombies and in Rec they were trapped in an apt building with demonic zombies. This is a room with the apocalypse outside trapped in a room with Sam Fisher(lol). But yeah some of the responses on here are some of the dumbest Ive ever read on this site.

Even I got though by reading, which is something you all should do it seems. "same type of setting as REC" Alex....I single you out since I haven't in so long. lol

My favorite part is where they steal the music from the Inception trailer. It looks nothing like REC, at all. Blindness was one of the scariest and most disturbing movies I have ever seen.

This movie is actually filming in my hometown and in an article in the paper today they mentioned they are on a 31-day shooting schedule. They are also shooting the film in chronological sequence which most of the actors really like. Also interesting to note that the set constructed is designed by Tony Noble whose credit include 'Moon'.

@malax because of your comment i watched Blindness for the first time. I adored the movie and have already started recommending it. After i heard it got slammed in the box office, by critics and hearing what the test audience said after the screening i can not believe people who honestly judge movies for a living would talk so low about a movie with so much emotion, story and character. 9.2/10 thanks for the recommendation

I gotta pipe in to say that I really liked Blindness too... Unfortunately, I didn't get here soon enough to see this trailer, but the concept and all the other film comparisons in the comments above have me very excited.

Sound designer: So, we're gonna start with the gigantic bells from The Last Airbender, and end with the weird low brass from Inception. Cool? Don't worry, people on the internet never notice these things...

is it me or the new trend of sound to be used in the trailers is the Foghorns???? is a disturbing sound i admit and if used cleverley magnifies the intensity of the trailer but come on its really starting to bug me.(and yes i know who cares if it does :D) to come to the trailer itself, it looks promising the concept is nice, glad they ditched the first name "the fallout" it would have created a big confusion with the game under the same name. the shots we have seen in this teaser looks good. the final scene suggests that there will be more than just survival amongst the group but also from the guys in hitech suits (as was stated in the explanation above :D) the setup it was shot looks like this one is a REC type of movie but i actually think its gonna turn out way different. if they could portray the human psyche under stress, and what it is capable of for survival genuienly this could turn out to be a sleeper hit. lets wait and see for more info. and pray they dont reveal too much, just enough to keep us wanting for more.. cheers

Shooting was delayed because of the eruption of the volcano in Iceland, which paralyzed air travel in Europe, also, Sean William Scott was originally going to star in this movie.
