Watch This: Second Trailer for Disney's Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Trailer

Disney has debuted a second new trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and starring Nic Cage, Jay Baruchel (who I've seen too much of recently), Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell. The first trailer arrived in December and I think everyone was impressed by how good it actually looked. This second one doesn't exactly improve over that one, as it uses the same song and some of the same scenes, but it does still look really good. We also get to see Molina as the villain and some plasma bolts, which I think will be used quite a bit in the movie. I'm still very excited to see this!

Watch the second trailer for Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice:

[flv: 598 250]

A sorcerer (Nicolas Cage) leaves his workshop in the hands of his apprentice (Jay Baruchel), who gets into trouble when the broomstick he put a spell on to do chores for him somehow develops a mind of its own.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is directed by veteran filmmaker Jon Turteltaub, who also directed 3 Ninjas, Cool Runnings, The Kid, and both National Treasure films previously. The screenplay was co-written by Carlo Bernard (The Uninvited) and Matt Lopez (Bedtime Stories). This is based on the story that first appeared in Disney's Fantasia. The Sorcerer's Apprentice hits theaters everywhere on July 16th, 2010 this summer.

I like Nic Cage but first he gives up on The Dresden Files, then he steals Harrys outfit WTF

I fail to see how this looks good. I'm glad Jay Baruchel is finally getting more work and getting noticed, but I feel like I have to pass on every movie Cage is on now. Plasma Bolts? I'll just watch Dragonball Evolution again. Mildly entertaining and probably shorter than this will be.

Hey wait a minute......I think I saw this trailer when I went to see Alice in Wonderland (2D) 2 weeks ago!

Ron on Mar 26, 2010

@Jimmy Love Nick didn't give up on the show, it got shitcanned. Next of all, he's been a huge fan of Harry for a long time. I see the outfit as him doing an homage to TDF, not a steal. Besides that, the movie's based off of the fantasia short about Mickey.

Pass. On July 16, I'll be seeing Inception...several times.

the visuals are amazing, but this sounds like some of the shittiest writing I've ever heard

For some reason I was thinking of Season of the Witch the whole time, needless to say this trailer utterly confused me. >.< I blame Nic's wig. It's the same in both movies.

Is it me or does Nicolas Cage look like Tim Burton?

Perplexed Shoes on Mar 27, 2010

Looks like it's very much in the spirit of National Treasure. I'll be checking this one out.

knuckle Bump xD

This is a better trailer than the first one Alfred Molina looks relay nastie in this. I'll be looking out for this one just for the special effects alone, Nic Cage still has Certon presance about him like in he just on the line from sane to insane.

Dragon Ball Evolution... entertaining? There are words that should NEVER be spoken in the same sentence...except for pointing out that they shouldn't.

neat special effects, cage n disney 🙁 bad combo, yea #18 is right does seem like DBZ hahah 😛

DaftPUNKFAN on Mar 28, 2010

ps DBZ anime rocks, the movie that fox made was super past weak it was a complete FAIL

DaftPUNKFAN on Mar 28, 2010

Man, this looks good. though i can't help but look at the synopsis and go "what?" this looks like a completely different movie. I'm thinking the fantasia part of it will be maybe 15-20 minutes.

"This is based on the story that first appeared in Disney's Fantasia." Actually the story first appeared earlier than that; It's a German poem from 1797 called "Der Zauberlehrling" written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

My thoughts: - Trailers shows the end (Jay holding the fire while Cage is down). - Jay is not my favorite actor for this (yeas i'm thinking about Shea). - Cage don't make this better, should be someone more... Sorcerer... serious. - Molina is a perfect choice, maybe the better in this. - DBZ was the moust horrible adaptation in all the times, makes me puke.

I think Nicholas cage is recovering his edge

Molina is in it. he never fails and picks good movies to be in (IMO). And Cage actually looks good in this (haven't been able to say that in along while). Lets hope its as good as it looks!

Nicholas cage and jon turteldaub are a brilliant team when it comes to making movies. i loved national treasure so im definately watching this one. p.s. who played the bad guy cuz he looked like alfred molina!

This movie was very well done in my opinion. The writers all did a fabulous job writing the script and despite many comments I've seen I thought Nicolas Cage was perfect for his roll. Sure some of the lines and content like the romance were a bit cliche but come on, it's Disney. I really hope they make a second because the after credits were kind of left wide Open. The worst part of the whole thing was that it ended! I just wanted to know more. My only cretique might be that Sid not at all explain why David got his full power at the end. Definitely a must see! =)
