I'm Here Short Film

Yep, Spike Jonze already has a new film - I'm Here is a 30 minute short that is premiering tonight at the Sundance Film Festival (I'll be seeing it this evening as well). The short stars Andrew Garfield as a library assistant who plods through an ordinary life in LA until a chance meeting opens his eyes to a the power of creativity and ultimately, love. When this new life and love begin to fall apart, he discovers he has a lot to give. This short film proves that ordinary is no place to be. It's essentially a robot love story which, from the mind of Spike Jonze, means it's probably brilliant. This trailer looks wonderful and I can't wait to see it.

I'm Here is written and directed by visionary filmmaker and artist Spike Jonze, of the films Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, and Where the Wild Things Are previously. This 31 minute short film stars British actor Andrew Garfield and actress Sienna Guillory, one of Maxim's 100 sexiest women. It was funded by Absolut Vodka is a commercial for the liquor, but it also available for sale at the Sundance Film Festival and will probably be released later this year. We'll definitely keep you updated on the release plans for I'm Here, because this looks like a short that I think a lot of people will want to see. What do you think?

Yes...well... another indication how our leading creative beings are unashamedly conscripted by corporations... and that's an idea that sounds like a good Spike Jonze film...

It looks like a Chris Cunningham video if Chris Cunningham stopped dropping acid, stopped listening to Aphex Twin, and accepted Christ into his life...

Wow it looks good, but also a little weird! It might take me a little time to get used to watching the robots. But definitely a movie I would watch! I hope that it is good!
