True Grit TV Spots

Hot damn this looks so awesome! Paramount just debuted three TV spots for the Coen Brothers' True Grit today just before Thanksgiving to give those of you stuffed with delicious turkey something to watch. Thanks to Awards Daily for finding YouTube embeds. True Grit is one of the few films left this year that I absolutely can't wait to see (and haven't yet). Jeff Bridges, Hailee Steinfeld, Josh Brolin & Matt Damon star in this PG-13 gritty Coen Brothers western. There's definitely a lot of Oscar potential with this too, another big reason why I can't wait to see it. My favorite one is #3 at the bottom, just so Inception-like intense. Enjoy!

The Coen Brothers' True Grit, which is apparently a more faithful take on the Portis novel, is about a young girl (Steinfeld) who's father is murdered. Determined to bring the killer to justice, Mattie enlists the help of a hard-drinking U.S. Marshal (Bridges) to track down the killer before a Texas Ranger (Damon) does. As a fan of the Coen Brothers and someone who can still appreciate a good western, this is one film I'm certainly looking forward to, at least because we get to see Jeff Bridges kicking ass on horseback! Paramount will be bringing True Grit to theaters starting on December 22nd just before Christmas. Watch the official trailer.

Hot. I think the third spot was the most rounded one as the others seemed more focused on Bridges' character. Loved them all though.

if bridges, damon, and steinfeld can create the same rapport (with each other) as John Wayne, Glen Campbell, Kim Darby did in the original - then this remake will be great. honestly, to this point, i haven't seen a scene yet that i thought was as good as anything in the original and i REALLY don't like steinfeld at all. with todays standards allowing a WHOLE lot more graphic violence - this remake could (and probably will) capture the violence of the period much better than the origianal.........so, i'm looking forward to it.

One question, is Brolin a loner or is he in a group? I do hope it's the first one.

PG-13? From a Coen bros. movie? Honestly, I'm shocked. I was kinda looking forward to seeing bad men getting killed in nasty ways. A family friendly Coen bros. movie....unbelievable. Still gonna see it though.

The pg-13 rating actually kinda scares me.

#5 re: Steinfeld, I think she's okay. But then, I found Darby pretty irritating in the original...

#11 - really? i liked darby; she kept track of everything involving money and she anytime she felt threatened - she said she'd get her lawyer after them. at one point, glenn campbell told wayne : "the girl draws her lawyer out like he's a gun"............funny stuff!

Is it me, or does anyone else feel sort of uneasy about the PG-13 rating?

dont worry about the rating, in this day and age the original would be pg13 also theres really nothing in the story that would force an R rating today

but i just noticed his eye patch in the original was on the other eye...

guys the pg13 rating doesn't matter, Dark Knight ad Inception were pg13, look how amazing those movies were. AN we have alot of other classic pg13 action movies so, yeah the pg13 doesn't matter

I like the plot and it looks like Jeff is back with a lot of great Projekts, this one and Tron this year are massive.
