After featuring that spectacular montage looking back at 25 Years of Pixar and bringing some tears to your eyes, we thought we'd take it easy on you guys on this fine Friday and April Fools today. Don't worry because we're not pulling any mean jokes or running fake stories, but we thought we'd point your attention to this well-edited, and exciting montage highlighting some trailers for films in 2011 that really show you how similar many of the films are when thrown together into a mega-trailer like this. This trailer for 2011: The Movie features explosions, slow-motion strutting, sweeping camera moves and spectacular hero shots.
Though most of the trailer is comprised of summer blockbusters like Super 8, X-Men First Class, and Thor, there's some March and April releases that made the cut like Source Code (opening today), Sucker Punch and Battle: Los Angeles. Even Hobo with a Shotgun makes it in there somehow. As cool as this montage is, Vulture (who found the montage at Blame it on the Voices) points out that this actually points out a lot of the clichés and similarities in action sequences and cinematography. But if anything, this just gets me excited for the summer of blockbusters. How about you?
