Janie Jones

With the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on the way with coverage from our own Alex Billington later this month (also keep an eye out for his coverage from Telluride this weekend), a film from last year's TIFF is just now getting the marketing machine started. Abigail Breslin's career has really blossomed since her turn in Little Miss Sunshine with more adult roles in films like Zombieland, and her role in the indie Janie Jones is no different as she plays a 13-year old girl suddenly dropped by her mother (Elisabeth Shue) into the lap of her rocker father played by Alessandro Nivola. See the trailer below!

Here's the trailer for David M. Rosenthal's Janie Jones originally from Fandango:

Written and directed by David M. Rosenthal, the indie drama Janie Jones follows rocker Ethan Brand (Alessandro Nivola) and his band, the Ethan Brand Experience, are on the comeback trail when a former flame (Elisabeth Shue) drops a bomb in his lap—their 13-year-old daughter, Janie Jones (Abigail Breslin). Ethan refuses to believe Janie is his kid, but when her mom suddenly leaves for rehab, the child has no place to go but with the band. But when Janie's musical talents spark a beautiful bond between she and her father, it may just help him on the road to redemption. Tribeca Films is releasing the drama on October 28th.
