Adam McKay & Will Ferrell Behind New Indie Comedy 'Bachelorette'

They've worked together to bring us comedy in the form of Talladega Nights, Anchorman and The Other Guys, but this time around Adam McKay and Will Ferrell will let some other great comedic talent take the spotlight. THR says the two are producing a new indie comedy with the working title of Bachelorette. The low budget comedy will bring together Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls), Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), Adam Scott ("Parks & Recreation") and Casey Wilson (Julie & Julia) for a story about three best friends who are invited to act as bridesmaids at the wedding of a girl they called “Pigface” in high school. Wilson is playing the bride while Dunst and Caplan are playing two of the three best friends (the third one has yet to be cast). Caplan's character is said to have a Playboy Bunny body with the mind of Larry David while Dunst's character is said to look "crisp and severe" with the ability to be your best friend and your worst enemy. Meanwhile, Scott will play Caplan's high school crush who comes to the wedding with a hot and much younger date.
The prospect of Scott and Caplan reuniting again after their turns on "Party Down" is exciting, but in a comedy like this, it's even better. Leslye Headland (who has written five episodes of "Terriers") wrote the script and will also make her directorial debut with the project. With Bridesmaids coming from producer Judd Apatow and now this comedy from McKay and Ferrell, it appears some of the big male names in comedy are letting some of the most talented ladies of comedy have their chance to shine. wow do you guys even read the article or just get too excited to comment in competitive style and totally dismissing what is really going on with this movie. Total fucking buffoons. Adam Scott and Lizzy Caplan together again since the ingenious show "Party Down". You are the reason this country is in the shitter!
