The actor has had some great supporting roles in films like Step Brothers and a fantastic dramatic turn in the indie The Vicious Kind, but Adam Scott may best be known for his work on the TV shows "Party Down" and "Parks and Recreation." Well, the actor has just booked a couple film roles which he'll likely shoot while on hiatus from the latter comedy series as Risky Biz reports Scott will star in both the comedy My Mother's Curse with Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand and a romantic comedy called See Girl Run which has Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green executive producing. Info on both films below!
With My Mother's Curse, it's not clear what role Scott will play, but he joins a cast that not only has Rogen and Streisand, but also Colin Hanks and "Chuck" star Yvonne Strahovski. Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) is directing the comedy from a script by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love). The story follows an inventor (Rogen) who invites his overbearing mother (Streisand) on a cross-country trip as he tries to sell his new product while also reuniting her with a lost love. Hanks will be playing husband to Strahovski who plays Rogen's high school sweetheart whom he previously proposed to. The couple let Rogen and Streisand stay in their house after they get caught in a blizzard.
As for See Girl Run, Nate Meyer will write and direct the film starring Robin Tunney as a woman who gets caught up in "what ifs" that cause her to dig back into her romantic history. Scott will play a local hero who stayed in their hometown to become an artist and illustrator and pine for his high school love. The more exposure Scott gets on the big screen the better, as long as it doesn't drag him away from "Parks and Recreation," a series that has really found solid footing as a great comedy. Sound good?
