Alyson Hannigan is Joining the Returning Cast of 'American Reunion'

Last month we learned that the new batch of American Pie would keep the franchise in the family with cast members Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy ready to reprise their franchise roles for American Reunion. While other cast members from the first three films were said to be negotiating, one name absent from the list was Alyson Hannigan, the horny little band geek who became Jim's (Biggs) wife in American Wedding. Well, those of you worried that she wouldn't return for the sequel can now be calm as Deadline reveals that Hannigan just closed a deal to reprise her role in the R-rated sex comedy franchise.
The lack of Hannigan's involvement was even a little worrisome when story details were recently revealed, because even though one of the plot points concerns Jim's marriage, and a test of his loyalty, there was no mention of Hannigan's part being prominent. Now we know she'll shoot the sequel while on hiatus between seasons of "How I Met Your Mother," and it seems like the family dynamic between Biggs and Hannigan will be an important one since the couple will also have a child when we catch up with them. Will Jim pass on some of his father's priceless and hilarious advice from his teenage years? Only time will tell. Anyone else glad to have Alyson Hannigan returning?

I was actually expecting the conclusion to be called 'American Baby'. I mean, it felt like it was leading up to such a 4th movie.

Actually I always thought it was a shame that Jim didn't go with hot Nadia at the end... (American Pie 2 screwed the whole thing)
