Dominion: Dinosaurs vs. Aliens

This summer the genre mash-up blockbuster Cowboys & Aliens is pitting, well, cowboys versus aliens. But we've also heard of forthcoming projects focusing on other genre specific battles including Zombies vs. Robots and even Boy Scouts vs. Zombies. Now Men in Black franchise director Barry Sonnenfeld is throwing his hat into the ring with yet another similar project in the form of Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens. Sonnenfeld is actually working with Liquid Comics and comic writer Grant Morrison to develop a graphic novel (a bigger version of the sneak peek above can be found right here) that will then become a feature film.

Sonnenfeld told Deadline, "Growing up, my fascination was all things dinosaur, and as an adult, I've had some success making films about aliens, so this is a dream come true."  The project is said to chronicle a secret prehistoric world war battle where an alien invasion attacks Earth in the age of the dinosaurs. The prehistoric lizards end up being the planet's only hope and it turns out, they may be a lot more intelligt than previously realized. Hopefully that doesn't mean they have guns and ships, but with a film that will have aliens and dinosaurs fighting, anything can happen. Sounds a bit like pandering to nerds and geeks, but maybe this could work. Anyone interested?

Hell yeah!!Great news! I can't wait! I agree Tester, bring on the CGI fest!I just hope it's a hard R, but knowing the studios it'll be PG-13.

100% agree jah p (and tester), the CGI is gonna and should be intense!! I'm a huge dino nerd and it seems are years pass, movies featuring dinosaurs keep getting cooler and more realistic (jurassic park --> jurassic park 2 --> jurassic park 3 --> king kong). Curious if they're gonna go with a "land before time" or "dinosaur" aspect with the talking dinosaurs or just have the dinos be intelligent enough to kick alien ass

Have Tommy Lee Jones voice the Head T-Rex in Charge with Owen Wilson as his ne'er do-well young scion, Taryn Manning as the voice of Owen Wilson's love interest, a tough yet beautiful Raptor and Ving Rhames voicing the Triceratops General who forms an unlikely alliance with the T-Rexes and I'm totally in. Oh, and have Mike Epps and Katt Williams as a couple of jive-talking Pteradactyls and I'm even more totally in.

This depends on whether Sonnenfeld wants an animated venture or live action. With an animated movie this could be huge and entertaining. As a live-action...this sounds like a SYFY Original/10,000 BC knock off. I'm not sure if a big studio will allow the kind of budget this would demand to be good as a live action. Potential there, but animation makes more sense unfortunately.

I'm interested if it's just a kick-ass, atmospheric 1.5 hour film of dinosaurs fighting aliens with absolutely no dialogue. Check out the Japanese manga "Gon" for an idea of what I'm talking about.

I'm still a sucker for Disney's Dinosaur movie from 2000. I love that movie and still watches it today..those dinosaur in that movie were very detailed even though they talked..so I'm guessing for this to happen and with no humans involved during that time, they'd have to be talking dinos....
