We recently heard that "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively might be leading a Sex and the City prequel, but that rumor seems to have been false. However, the actress does have two promising roles that she's circling. Variety reports the actress is the frontrunner to take the female lead in Oliver Stone's adaptation of Don Winslow's novel Savages. After Jennifer Lawrence took the lead role in Hunger Games, the role in Stone's project was left vacant. Though Lively is the favorite to take the role, she's also currently considering Oz: The Great and Powerful, a project that would see her playing Glinda the Good Witch of the East.
Apparently Lively recently said, "I'm a huge fan of Oliver Stone. when you look at directors that you want to work with, he's always on the top of the list. It would be a dream to be able to work with him." Of course with Sam Raimi at the helm of Oz: The Great and Powerful with a cast that includes James Franco and Mila Kunis so far, both projects are enticing in their own way. It's not clear if Lively is leaning one way or the other, but if she ends up turning down Savages, Olivia Wilde (Tron Legacy) and Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four) are also in the running for the role. We'll keep you posted. Thoughts?
