Bradley Cooper Back on 'Silver Linings Playbook' with Robert De Niro
Though he was originally slated to star in the film alongside Anne Hathaway when we heard about the project back in December, actor Bradley Cooper fell away from David O. Russell's adaptation of Matthew Quick's novel The Silver Linings Playbook, so then Mark Wahlberg was going to reunite with The Fighter director on the film instead. However, now Deadline says that with the production start pushed back, Wahlberg is exiting the film and Cooper is back in the picture with Limitless co-star Robert De Niro also entering talks to star. The two join Jennifer Lawrence who has taken Hathaway's role in the film.
It sounds like Wahlberg already has Broken City with Allen Hughes slated to shoot around the same time as Silver Linings Playbook, and that has caused him to drop from the film. His loss is Cooper's gain who has plenty of interesting projects in his future including Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost, a remake of The Crow and Derek Cianfrance's The Place Beyond the Pines. In this film he'll play a history teacher recently released from a mental hospital and placed in the care of his mother. Initially he plans on winning back his ex-wife, but instead gets caught up with an eccentric neighbor (Lawrence) who has problems of her own. The project is expected to shoot this fall, and it sounds like one to look forward to next year.

beevis, I disagree with you. De Niro is constantly pissing on his talent ,and he hasn't starred in a quality film in years - plus he was beyond painful & hideous hosting SNL ( he should never act in a live setting again ) . Jennifer Lawrence is very overrated- she maintained the same dull expression in Winter's Bone , and she painfully couldn't muster any expression in XMEN: First Class. Mark Wahlberg is one of those actors that will shine will a good script and talented director. He mainly specializes in subtle acting. Anne Hathaway's performance in Rachel Getting Married is still one of my favorite performances by a young actress. Plus, she kicks serious ass on SNL . On SNL , her impressions of Judy Garland & Katie Holmes blew me away- that takes serious skills to pull that off. She is one of the feww A-list movie stars cannot act and perform live .
