Bradley Cooper

Last December we heard that director Derek Cianfrance would re-team with his Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling for a drama called The Place Beyond the Pines. At first details were scarce with the filmmaker saying it was "all about fathers and guns, and it has motorcycles and guns in it." Then in February he also said it was "kind of an epic movie. It takes place over a couple of generations and it’s kind of a crime story, kind of a mystery." Now we have a better idea about the story itself along with news from Variety revealing Bradley Cooper is being lined up to take a role in the film described as a multi-generational crime drama.

The story apparently follows a professional motorcycle rider (Gosling) who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son, but when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Cooper) their confrontation spirals into a generational feud. It sounds like the feud is going to get pretty heavy too as producer Jamie Patricof previously said Gosling was planning on doing his own motorcycle stunts which could include riding the bike around one of those big round steel cages from sideshows and traveling circuses. Sounds like an interesting film that is completely different than what we saw in the tragic Blue Valentine, but count me intrigued. What do you think?

If you put an eye patch on him in that picture, does that make him Big Boss?
