While the comedy Burt Wonderstone already sounds like a blast with Steve Carell playing the titular magician and Jim Carrey playing a rival illusionist. But the cast has gotten even better with news from THR that Steve Buscemi ("Boardwalk Empire") and Olivia Wilde (Tron Legacy) have joined the cast today, and this comes after news surfaced over the weekend from Variety that James Gandolfini has also grabbed a role in the story of a more traditional magic man who is dethroned by a hipper illusionist doing dangerous tricks and breaks up with his partner then must find a way to rediscover his love for magic.
Gandolfini is the owner of a casino where at least one of the magicians will perform and Wilde is playing Wonderstone's love interest who first works as his assistant but then eventually comes to be employed by Carrey's character. Finally, Buscemi will play a longtime friend and partner of Wonderstone who ends up quitting the act. Honestly, I feel like this could really be the film to finally get Carrey's comedy career back on track. With TV director Don Scardino, who has helmed some great episodes of "30 Rock" most recently, making his feature debut, there's the potential for a really great comedy in the works.

With Jim Carrey and Steve Carell it can't be but good. I can't wait for that to come out.
