You got your freshmen, ROTC guys, preps, J.V. jocks, Asian nerds, Cool Asians, Varsity jocks Unfriendly black hotties, Girls who eat their feelings, Girls who don't eat anything, Desperate wannabes, Burnouts, Sexually active band geeks, the greatest people you will ever meet, and the worst. Beware of Casting Tidbits. First up, though Amy Adams turned down the role in Rock of Ages after taking the role of Lois Lane in Man of Steel, Deadline reports Malin Akerman will play the journalist writing a piece on rocker Stacee Jax (Tom Cruise) but ends up in bed with him and singing I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner.
Second, it looks like the Travolta family is taking over the biopic Gotti: Three Generations. John Travolta was already set to play John Gotti Sr. and now Variety reports his real-life wife Kelly Preston (Jerry Maguire) will play Victoria DiGiorgio, the mobsters wife. In addition, the couple's daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, will play the role of their daughter, Angel Gotti. At least we know that they'll all resemble one another. Recently Barry Levinson became director of the film after Nick Cassavetes was forced to drop out due to a previous commitment with his indie Yellow. Production should begin this fall.
Next, Variety reports Hugh Grant will provide his voice for Aardman Animation's The Pirates! In And Adventure with Scientists, a new stop-motion animated 3D feature film at Sony Pictures Animation. This is Grant's first animated role, voicing a bearded Pirate Captain who travels far and wide in a quest to win the much coveted Pirate of the Year Award, but he joins a great cast that also includes Martin Freeman, Selma Hayek, David Tennant, Imelda Staunton, Jeremy Piven, Brendan Gleeson, Brian Blessed and Ashley Jensen.
Finally, though we're still waiting to hear whether Chris Hemsworth will play the titular male lead in Snow White and the Huntsman, Deadline reports Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides star Sam Clafin will play the prince in the fairytale adaptation. The actor joins Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the evil queen, and Universal is trying hard to finalize a cast, but that role of the huntsman seems to be a tough one to lock down.
That's all for this edition of Casting Tidbits. Be sure to stay tuned for even more casting news on the way.

They should have cast Julia Roberts instead of Malin Akerman or Catherine Zeta-Jones. I’ve always wanted to see Tom Cruise do a movie with her. They are both incredible actors and it would be amazing to see them bounce off each other in a film.

I wish Hugh Grant would do more movies. He pigeonholed himself as an actor who just did romantic comedies. He is an underrated actor. So, I hope that he does more movies, tries to reach his full potential as an actor and tries to win an Oscar.

I hope they cast famous comedians as the seven dwarves in Snow White and the Huntsman! LOL

The ultra-gorgeous Malin Akerman is indescribably beautiful and sensual. She is the best thing about this film. Swedish perfection doesn’t get much purer than her.
