TRON: Destiny Trailer

"Before you ask yourself if you can build your next brainchild, ask yourself if you should." As always, there's many great videos out there to feature, but one that's worth watching is a fan-made teaser trailer called TRON: Destiny that was found by SlashFilm and Topless Robot today. TRON: Destiny is basically another re-imagined Tron sequel with a new set of young characters who break into Encom the other way. This video looks like it was made by a bunch of students, but it has fantastic production values and visual effects, despite some otherwise mediocre dialogue (skip the middle). Another stellar Tron Legacy follow-up video.

That was pretty damn cool to watch! Though I still like Flynn more. Thanks again to SlashFilm for posting about it. He adds, "I would credit them by name, but they insisted on uploading the fake trailer to YouTube, trying to claim that it might be a leaked real deal." So unfortunately there's no credit behind this yet, but it is an impressive bit of work (at least the production and FX). Maybe I'm just a big Tron nerd who loves seeing this kind of stuff, like that TRON: The Next Day viral video as well. I'm even looking forward to that upcoming Tron Uprising animated show too. What did you guys think of the TRON Destiny trailer?

That ending was cool but light cycles can't function off The Grid.

5

...but what if they could? Could you imagine a light cycle battle locking up in Friday night Manhattan traffic?

It's a movie einstein

Not neccasarily, since Clu was going to have an entire army, vehicles and all, come to our world. I'm assuming they would function, or that would be a pointless trip 🙂

fantastic fx showcase. but like most fan made things: acting and writing don't even reach of the level of something like Tron Legacy. but that's not what this is about, and the fx and cinematography just give us an idea of "what would it look like if the world of Tron entered our world." And Legacy definitely suggests that, so this is exciting. And the logo animation/design is really excellent

guess thats pretty cool, but in real life, a single college girl, couldn't build such a complex machine by herself even if she had the blue prints. like spider man creating spider web shooters... not plausible... but it was pretty awesome none the less.

Lol the light cycle on the highway now thats just realistic but holy shit how could one girl build a machine seriously what were they thinking.....

What part about "I didn't build it" don't you guys understand? She said she built the digitizer.

wow that is awesomely made especially the effects good job!

Needed to be tightened-up as far as the editing, and the sound was bad. And why is the security guard using a flashlight when the lights are on? Otherwise, not too shabby.

kitano0 on Apr 26, 2011

The first 75% suffers from some really bad editing and pacing. The ending is pretty solid though.

My feeling exactly. It doesn't kick off properly till the 4-minute mark.

The end with Sark was bad ass makes me wish he was in the new movie or maybe in the sequel... and bring back David Warner!

If it wasn't for the strong music carrying this I would have lost interest...but then came the digitizer and all was well. Plus if you don't smile by the end you're not a fan of TRON...and that end title sequence is very very slick. Great post Alex:)
