Chloe Moretz and Possibly Michael Sheen Ready for 'Dark Shadows'

The director is already set to work on Dark Shadows with some regular collaborators like Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and his wife Helena Bonham Carter, but Tim Burton is also working with several talents for the first time including Eva Green and Jackie Earle Haley. Now more new faces are going to be added to the mix. Deadline has word that Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass, Let Me In) will play Carolyn, daughter of Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Pfeiffer), the reclusive matriarch of the Collins clan and owner of the Collinwood mansion where the supernatural story unfolds. But other reports say a couple more cast members may also join.
Another report filed earlier today by Deadline says child actor Gulliver McGrath (Hugo Cabret) has snagged the role of youg David Collins, but the big story is that Michael Sheen (The Queen, Tron Legacy) may be brought on board to play his father Roger Collins. The two would also join recently cast Thomas McDonnell (Prom) who is playing a younger version of Johnny Depp's Barnabas Collins character. This is quire an ensemble cast with some truly great veteran actors, some brilliant young talent, and a couple promising newcomers. Though it's another adaptation of an old TV series, I'm looking forward to seeing what Burton can do with the material and this cast. How about you?

Michael Sheen is a GREAT choice for Roger Collins. Chloe Moretz is a very wrong choice for Carolyn. She's too young and too mellow. Someone like Tamsin Egerton is more in line with that character.
