The actor just made quite a splash as the romantic interest for Kristen Wiig in the breakout comedy hit Bridesmaids, and now Chris O'Dowd will work with producer Judd Apatow again on the filmmaker's next directing gig. Variety reports the Irish-born actor has joined the cast of Apatow's untitled spin-off from the 2007 comedy Knocked Up. In addition to Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprising the married characters from that comedy, Charlyne Yi will also return as her quirky friend character Jodi. Lena Dunham (director/actress from Tiny Furniture) has joined the cast along with Wyatt Russell (Cowboys & Aliens).
Though we still don't know the exact plot of the comedy, the film will follow Rudd and Mann's characters five years after the events of Knocked Up. Megan Fox and Albert Brooks have already been added to the cast with the latter playing Rudd's father. As for the new cast members, O'Dowd and Dunham will play employees at the indie record company where Rudd's character works while Russell will play a hockey player. After seeing O'Dowd on "The IT Crowd" and in a bit part in Dinner for Schmucks, I was really glad to see him take a big role in Bridesmaids and can't wait to see him working with Apatow. Here's hoping this leads to even more big roles down the road. Sound good?

Was a little iffy when I heard they will be doing a Knocked up spin off. Now at least there will be Chris O'Dowd to watch. Defiantly need more O'Dowd in my life. Wait....thats what I said about the new XMen. Crap.
