Christian Bale May Be Building an Ark in Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah'

Last week we learned that director Darren Aronofsky was finally getting around to figuring out his next project after sadly backing out of directing The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. Thankfully, the project is Noah, a new take on the story of Noah's Ark which the director has been developing for awhile. Aronofsky has been shopping the project around town with hopes of gathering $130 million to get the project off the ground. Sounds like a difficult prospect, but now Vulture reports the director is in talks with Christian Bale to play the titular character, so that should make rounding up money a little easier.
As we reported before, the project is currently set up at New Regency, but the big budget requires another studio to come in and help out. Apparently Paramount Pictures, Summit Entertainment and Fox are all circling the project, and if Bale ends up coming on board, it would make the pricetag a little less intimidating. As of now apparently Aronofsky is only in talks with Bale about taking the role so it's not a done deal yet. The prospect of Bale working with Aronofsky is almost as good as the filmmaker working with Jackman on The Wolverine, so count me excited. How about you?

Based on what you just said, if it was based on fact, would the movie be made in the first place?

God said to Noah, there's gonna be a floody-floody. Rain came down, it started to get muddy, muddy. Get those animals, out of the arky-arky...

this movie is guaranteed to get all kinds of debates started...and I'm am not looking forward to it. Hopefully it won't be as bad as The Passion...ugh, that was the worst couple of months ever. That said I'm interested in the film, Aronofsky and Bale is a great team up.
