Dan Aykroyd Joining Ferrell and Galifianakis for 'Dog Fight' Comedy
The new political comedy Dog Fight from director Jay Roach (watch the trailer for his political drama Game Change right here), already has a double dose of talent from "Saturday Night Live" with Will Ferrell taking one of the lead roles opposite Zach Galifiaiankis, not to mention a supporting role for Jason Sudeikis. But now another "SNL" veteran is getting thrown into the mix as Moviehole has learned that Dan Aykroyd will join the film which follows two rival politicians (Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis) running for a congressional seat in a small North Carolina district election. However, his role in the comedy isn't clear.
Considering the film used to be called Southern Rivals, it would be no surprise if Aykroyd donned his perfected accent that we've seen in films like Driving Miss Daisy. When it comes to films, Aykroyd hasn't actually been seen on the big screen in a few years. Though he provided the voice for the titular character in Yogi Bear (which is something we wish we could forget), his last live-action role was in War Inc., which was sort of an unofficial sequel to Grosse Pointe Blank. With Aykroyd joining the likes of John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Dylan McDermott and more, this promises to be a comedy to look forward to down the road.

Definitely looking forward to this. These three plus Lithgow and Cox should make for some great comedic performances.
