Human Centipede (Full Sequence)

We've already seen the grotesque poster for the unsettling sequel, tossed up an audio review featuring our own Tim Buel, with Brad McHargue & James Marsh, after the film screened at Fantastic Fest (see all our coverage right here), and let our own Jeremy Kirk's not-so-flattering review speak for itself. Now it's time for you to be the judge as the full length theatrical trailer for The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), the sequel to Tom Six's grotesque horror film The Human Centipede: First Sequence, has finally made its way online. There's not much to say about this one, except to watch the trailer below at your own risk.

Tom Six's follow-up to The Human Centipede (Full Sequence) ups that ante with a brute force unparalleled in motion pictures today. It is sure to be one of the most controversial films of our time and looks to be even more disgusting, more unsettling, and more disturbing than the first one. The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) is written, produced and directed by Dutch filmmaker Tom Six, who was also behind the first film. As of this moment, The Human Centipede 2 is only set to premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin later this month, but will also be released by IFC Midnight at some point in the future. Who's seeing it?

trailer looks pretty tame . i'll watch it as a rent just to see what's in it that's so terrible. by the way: lots of people crying and yelling does NOT make a "dare to watch" trailer.

I did flinch a few times to be honest, and I agree it won't be cinematic gold.  Still I want to how far Six can really take this.  I mean if the SAW series went seven movies, then I expect the seventh human centipede to reach mars.

fair point, Beevis - reactions like that are just good marketing, which Six has already achieved in spades. but, while the US can make its own mind up, i see that no-one in the UK is going to be able see this legally - i read it's been denied a certificate at all (unlike A Serbian Film, which got one). if you want to know the UK's rating agency's reasons, see i'm sure there've been others, but i recall the UK's most famous banning (since overturned) for a film's *whole content* was the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre. that film is now - very justifiably - considered a classic, even outside the horror sphere. i can't see this being the same. i never caught the first film, mainly because i couldn't think of a reason to do so. i adore horror cinema, it's just that i don't get off on coprophilia or sexual violence.

son_et_lumiere, you make an interesting point on the UK certificate process - how could "a serbian film" get one and not  this? i've seen "serbian" and it's a nasty watch. as far as the first "centipede"? i watched that out of curiosity too - and it's not really sexual or explicitly about excrement. i found it to be not nearly as gross as the marketing and internet buzz made it out to be. it also failed as far as the storyline - there wasn't any..... and,the last half of the movie went nowhere. the best thing about film was the actor who played the doctor - i'd love to see other horror movies where he reprises the role......he played the part very well.

hey Beevis, thanks for the capsule review. yeah, i love my horror cinema - script, story and acting. in this last regard, the doctor sounds interesting, but i wonder what those playing the centipede feel about their acting career? btw, i rummaged around the rest of the BBFC website, and they cut over 4 minutes out of A Serbian Film in the UK in order to get a certificate. peace. i'm off to watch something light and wholesome.

hey! "light and wholesome" is GREAT! - a classic along those lines would be "stand by me"....can't go wrong with that!!   nasty movies (and i use that term VERY loosely) like the "centipede" or "serbian" films are just a curiosity, as far as to see what shocking stuff they put in them.......definitely a "one-watch and forget it" type thing.  btw - did  you see "super"? i thought that was well done. rainn wilson, ellen page, and kevin bacon were great! i thought the violence was a little "over-the-top"......but still a very good movie.

(off topic) no, @beevis:disqus, haven't caught Super yet, it's on a (distressingly long) list of to-be-seen's! as it happens, my 'light and wholesome' choice was The Iron Giant. never fails. edit: probably one of the few times The Human Centipede and The Iron Giant will ever be mentioned in the same post!

That guy would have made a fantastic "Penguin" in a modern Batman film.

I like the main actor. On the film though,  Why?????

Is the whole thing in black and white?

I didn't think the trailer deserved a "Dare to Watch" heading. Wasn't anything shocking or gross. I'll watch this flick. The first one was entertaining.

Did you dare to watch?

J Mitchell-1995 on Nov 2, 2011

the movie has to be way more explicit then the trailer, otehrwise its just a very bad psycho-thriller.

i saw it. believe the hype. no joke. i was like.. oh no no the first one was nothing, more comical and stupid than anything. literally part two was hard to watch, i have never in my life felt so disturbed by a movie. some people actual left the theater after screaming at the top of their lungs. watch it, but never watch it again.
