Last October we learned that Sex Drive directors and Hot Tub Time Machine writers Sean Anders and John Morris would be at the helm of We're the Millers, a marijuana fueled comedy that's been in development since 2002. However, now THR is reporting that Dodgeball director Rawson Thurber will be in the director's chair for this story of a drug dealer who, on his 30th birthday, decides he wants out of the business. He takes on one more job, which forces him to travel to Mexico and create a make-believe family in order to bring 1400 lbs. of marijuana into the U.S. Though I'm not sure why his birthday is a key detail.
In addition to Morris and Anders attempting to get the project off the ground, Full Monty director Peter Cattaneo had previously tried as well. And throughout its development, actors like Will Arnett and Steve Buscemi had been attached at some point, however, it seems no actors are involved with the project as it tries to light up once more. Honestly, this sounds like it has the potential to be another great "stoner" action comedy in the same vein as Pineapple Express. And as someone who enjoyed the silliness of Thurber's Dodgeball, I'm hoping he can finally get this project off the ground and into production. What about you?

"a marijuana fueled comedy that's been in development since 2002." That's funny.
