Here's a double dose of casting coming at you starting with Variety's report that The Devil's Double and Captain America: The First Avenger star Dominic Cooper is negotiating to star in Motor City, a new revenge thriller from director Albert Hughes, one half of the sibling directing duo once attached to helm the live-action adaptation of Akira. The story follows a small time felon who, after being released from prison, begins tracking down the men who framed him. Cooper's star is certainly on the rise, and after leading the indie The Devil's Double, this is the perfect step up to a higher profile gig as a lead actor. More below!
Also Variety has word that Callan McAuliffe (Flipped, I Am Number Four) is joining the impressive cast of Paradise Lost, the adaptation of John Milton's 17th-century poem from director Alex Proyas. The film will follow the epic war in heaven between archangels Lucifer (Bradley Cooper) and Michael (Benjamin Walker), including the latter's role in Adam and Eve's fall from grace. McAuliffe will play Uriel, one of the first seven archangels created by God. When Lucifer rebels against God and Michael is named commander of Heaven's army, the dedicated soldier Uriel becomes his second in command.
