Last month brought news that Casey Affleck was going to team-up with Benjamin Walker to take down Lucifer in Knowing director Alex Proyas' adaptation of John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost, and now the devil himself (played by Bradley Cooper) gets a sidekick of his own. Heat Vision has word that "Prison Break" star Dominic Purcell has landed the role of Jerahmeel, an angel who falls in with Lucifer and ultimately becomes the Dark One's right-hand man as the renamed Moloch. It won't be the first time Purcell has gone to the dark side since he also played Dracula in the comic book franchise sequel Blade Trinity.
This ambitious action-oriented take on the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Lucifer and Michael, including the latter's role in Adam and Eve's fall from grace, sounds like it could be one hell of a visual feast. Proyas has even said, "I've sometimes thought that only an insane person would want to make this movie, because it's visually audacious and has to live up to a classic poem that is so beloved. I don't think the visuals could have been done justice until now, which is the great fun of being a film director in this modern age of visual effects." Combine that with bringing together some interesting talent with Djimon Hounsou, Camilla Belle and Callan McAuliffe also being cast, and this sounds like it could be a hell of a film.

Not related to this film, but I think Dominic Purcell would be a good casting choice for Shepard in Mass Effect. He really resembles the generic male Shepard character I think, and he's not a bad actor either.

He looks exactly like Shephard, you're right about that.

The cast sounds promising and I really can't wait for them to start on production. I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm glad Casey Affleck is getting more roles because I think he is a really good actor.

Akex Proyas is one of those directors that creates polarizing films. I really enjoy his work, even Knowing which I loved for its mad ending.

Yeah me too, pity he was locked out of the I Robot editing room though (that flick had some potential)

Sadly, this will probably be too commercial for my taste. Knowing? I, Robot?

Knowing can be called many things, but commercial is not one of them.
