We already know she'll follow her directing debut Whip It with an adaptation of How to Be Single for her sophomore effort. Now THR reports Drew Barrymore has already lined up her next directing and producing gig in the form of an adaptation of the young adult thriller Heist Society by Ally Carter. Warner Bros. is behind the film which reunites Barrymore with Whip It screenwriter Shauna Cross who will adapt the story about a young woman named Katarina Bishop who hails from a family of burglars and master thieves. The girl leaves her illicit life behind, but is forced back into thievery to help her family.
Bishop's father finds himself wrongly suspected in the case of a mobster's missing art collection and she must assemble a crew to track down the art and steal it back. Sounds like Ocean's 11 with a teen twist, but apparently the studio is having the script age the characters into their early 20's rather than being older teenager. Barrymore will also work with Cross in the script, and if they bring the same energy and fun that made Whip It such an entertaining flick, then this could be another successful notch on Barrymore's directing belt.

This is definitely a must-see even if it is a thriller with Drew Barrymore.
