Final Destintation Cheating Death Again with Two More Sequels?

Since the series is all about cheating death, it seems only appropriate the the Final Destination franchise lives on even after the fourth installment was originally deemed to be THE Final Destination. Last year we learned that the next sequel, apparently dubbed 5nal Destination, would be directed by Steven Quale, a USC film student recruited by James Cameron in the 80's while he was working on The Abyss. Looks like he's not doing much with that experience now, but the newest scrap of info comes from actor Tony Todd, a staple franchise character, told Dread Central that if all goes well, there will be two more sequels up next.
When asked what audiences can expect from a fifth Final Destination installment, Todd said, "Thumbs up! Thumbs way up. They expanded my part, and the producer told me as we were leaving Vancouver that if it opens at Number 1 – which statistically it has – they’re going to shoot the next two simultaneously." Yes, the most recent Final Destination sequel opened at the top of the box office, but before that the others had only come in second or third place. Still not bad for a horror franchise that should've died a long time ago, I guess.
Yet again being shot and presented in 3D, 5nal Destination sees Death being just as omnipresent as ever and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But these unsuspecting souls were never supposed to survive, and in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda. Personally, I look forward to the day when Death gets his shit together and kills the Final Destination franchise. How about you?

I saw only the first one and that was enough. Well I guess I saw part of the second and that was more than enough. This is a concept that has only one film in it. I mean it's the same thing over and over. You may say other franchises are as well, but not like this. I mean it's literally the same thing!! And it's not like there is a main villian to fight against. There's no Jason, Michael Myers, Jigsaw, Leatherface etc. Since they can't "fight" against anything in these movies, it's just more of "Oh no, that tree almost fell on themTheir car almost fell off the cliffThe plane almsot crashed on them." Blah blah blah.

The first one was by far the best of the bunch, at least from a critical standpoint, but I really can't agree that the series should dry up. It's true the series has devolved to the point where there's no real plot (not that it started with a super-complicated one to begin with). Still, I've found the experience of each sequel to be pretty harrowing and that's what you go to this type of horror movie for. If we weren't still getting unique and higher quality horror films like Let The Right One In, Paranormal Activity, and Frozen, I'd be more concerned, but don't hate the cheaper exploitation flicks. They have their purpose.

Can we all start referring to the sequel as 'Snal Destination' or 'Fivenal Destination' just to convince Hollywood what a daft trend this numbers-for-letters thing is? (ps. The new comments system is nice and all that but boy, it sometimes takes a dog's age to load up).

The first one was good, but the third one was awesome. The fourth was horrible.

They might be cheating death, but they sure as hell won't be cheating me out of $15.00....

Damn, no one knows how to have fun anymore. I love these movies! So cool to see how they kill people. Creativity is the key, same with SAW now. I won't pay to go see it of course, that's what Netflix is for!

Same dog....different hydrant. Please support the abolition of the de-evolution of the human race by not supporting this movie and its insufferable sequals.
