Arthur Remake Trailer

Bitterman, watch this trailer! Due in theaters in less than two months, Warner Bros has finally unveiled a trailer on Yahoo for Arthur, the remake of the 1981 comedy classic, this time starring Russell Brand as the wealthy, drunken playboy. This has all sorts of wacky stuff in it, as he is a billionaire, so why not throw in everything they can? In addition to Brand, Arthur stars: Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig, Nick Nolte and Luis Guzmán. Yea, we've seen a lot of Brand on the big screen already, but this is supposed to be his great new comedy. I don't know if all these rich scenes will work, but it looks okay. Watch below!

A drunken playboy stands to lose a wealthy inheritance when he falls for a woman his family doesn't like.

Arthur is directed by up-and-coming American filmmaker Jason Winer, making his feature directing debut after working on Fox's "Modern Family". The screenplay was written by Peter Baynham, mostly of TV work but also credited for the "story" in Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat & Bruno. This is a remake of Steve Gordon's 1981 film Arthur. Warner Bros is bringing Arthur to theaters starting on April 8th in spring. Look okay?

Actually looks good. But of course the other 118 minutes may suck.

Todd on Feb 10, 2011

"Russel Brand of Earth... LIVE!"... sorry!, that was for Boston Brand... uhmm... never mind.

Manuel on Feb 10, 2011

Brian Barajas on Feb 10, 2011

Dave on Feb 10, 2011

5 watched that and thought he was gonna end up with garner?

butliereee on Feb 10, 2011

Pretty sure the girl he's going to fall in love with is Greta Gerwig.

Leeloo Dallas Multipass on Feb 11, 2011

What are you talking about? The character he falls in love with is shown in the first scene of the trailer played by actress Greta Gerwig.

Crapola on Feb 10, 2011

Ummm yeah, think I'll just go to netflix and watch the original Arthur, save me some money and actually have a good time.

skag_boy on Feb 10, 2011

Horrible casting for Bitterman.....just bloody awful.

RandallM on Feb 10, 2011

Looks like it could be good. Loved that magnet joke.

Sean Kelly on Feb 10, 2011

Fuck it I'm in. Mirren looks good as usual, and its nice to see Garner playing sexy psycho.

Anonymous on Feb 10, 2011

What happened to Nick Nolte? Is he playing a bottle of scotch?

Glen on Feb 10, 2011

The "french kiss" and "my bed is a magnet" jokes were genuinely funny, on paper this looks like shit but the trailer showed a lot of promise. Then again 90% of comedies put all the good jokes in the trailer so yeah, I agree with Todd.

Looks funny. I'm up for it.

fem!anon on Feb 10, 2011

I laughed three times during that, which is more than a lot of comedies in full. This may well surprise us. Hell, count me in.

sleepykid on Feb 10, 2011

Haven't seen the original, but i laughed many times. Looks fun so i'll check it out.

Moviekidmike on Feb 10, 2011

Nothing was remotely funny! I didn't laugh once.

John on Feb 10, 2011

Seems fun enough.

Mattias Nielsen on Feb 11, 2011

But Brand just isn't funny...

Moif on Feb 11, 2011

I think Brand is funny, but I didn't laugh once this whole trailer.

Guy on Feb 11, 2011

Guy, I didn't laugh once in this trailer either. It looks dreadful.

Film Fan on Feb 11, 2011

crap, dreadful.... brand stinks... come on people...

scoute on Feb 11, 2011

Looks horrible.

voodoo2 on Feb 11, 2011

OK...I laughed, I like laughing and I will see the movie in hopes of laughing some more.

cinemabandit on Feb 11, 2011

Zero charm. They seem to have missed the point of the story... or swapped it all out for 'Russell Brand being Russell Brand', instead.

Chris on Feb 11, 2011

so many sad comments on here by sad people who hide behind there computers. i would jam my fingers back up my bum if i was them and listen to chinese flute music

dogfartlife on Feb 11, 2011

you mean - like YOU are hiding behind your computer?

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

this remake looks terrible. i like RB but he doesn't seem right for the role. the jokes seem predictable and veeeeeeeery tired. - i'll pass.

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

They haven't broken down that batmobile yet? Jebus, I would have made an event around rigging that thing with dynamite and blowing it up in the desert. Get it on film and shit. Oh yeah, the movie looks ok too

Snears on Feb 11, 2011

You can't replace Dudley Moore's perfect drunk.

Delvis Crasho on Feb 11, 2011

Wash You're Winkey!

McWilley on Feb 11, 2011

Wash your Winkey! 🙂

McWilley on Feb 11, 2011

The confusion strikes me: who wouldn't want to marry someone who looks like Jennifer Garner? Comeeee on people!!!

Leinergroove on Feb 11, 2011

Sleep with someone and marry someone are two different animals altogether, plus she seems to be a little psycho.

Jason Martin on Feb 11, 2011

I think this might actually be good. Was Aurthur always drunk in the original? They must have done away with that aspect of the story.

Jason Martin on Feb 11, 2011

That sucked

Apple Sauce on Feb 12, 2011

That looks horrendous. Oh my god. Awful.

Shannon on Feb 12, 2011

i actually like this :s and lol "attracted to you"

A5J4DX on Feb 12, 2011

Dreadful is the word for this

Vegeta on Mar 5, 2011

Helen Mirren is in it! That's good enough for me!
