Finally An Official Trailer for Russell Brand's New 'Arthur' Remake

Bitterman, watch this trailer! Due in theaters in less than two months, Warner Bros has finally unveiled a trailer on Yahoo for Arthur, the remake of the 1981 comedy classic, this time starring Russell Brand as the wealthy, drunken playboy. This has all sorts of wacky stuff in it, as he is a billionaire, so why not throw in everything they can? In addition to Brand, Arthur stars: Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig, Nick Nolte and Luis Guzmán. Yea, we've seen a lot of Brand on the big screen already, but this is supposed to be his great new comedy. I don't know if all these rich scenes will work, but it looks okay. Watch below!

A drunken playboy stands to lose a wealthy inheritance when he falls for a woman his family doesn't like.
Arthur is directed by up-and-coming American filmmaker Jason Winer, making his feature directing debut after working on Fox's "Modern Family". The screenplay was written by Peter Baynham, mostly of TV work but also credited for the "story" in Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat & Bruno. This is a remake of Steve Gordon's 1981 film Arthur. Warner Bros is bringing Arthur to theaters starting on April 8th in spring. Look okay?

Actually looks good. But of course the other 118 minutes may suck.

What are you talking about? The character he falls in love with is shown in the first scene of the trailer played by actress Greta Gerwig.

What happened to Nick Nolte? Is he playing a bottle of scotch?

The "french kiss" and "my bed is a magnet" jokes were genuinely funny, on paper this looks like shit but the trailer showed a lot of promise. Then again 90% of comedies put all the good jokes in the trailer so yeah, I agree with Todd.

I laughed three times during that, which is more than a lot of comedies in full. This may well surprise us. Hell, count me in.

Zero charm. They seem to have missed the point of the story... or swapped it all out for 'Russell Brand being Russell Brand', instead.

They haven't broken down that batmobile yet? Jebus, I would have made an event around rigging that thing with dynamite and blowing it up in the desert. Get it on film and shit. Oh yeah, the movie looks ok too

The confusion strikes me: who wouldn't want to marry someone who looks like Jennifer Garner? Comeeee on people!!!
Leinergroove on Feb 11, 2011

Sleep with someone and marry someone are two different animals altogether, plus she seems to be a little psycho.

I think this might actually be good. Was Aurthur always drunk in the original? They must have done away with that aspect of the story.
