Words are not needed to introduce him. Lionsgate has debuted the first "motion poster" via IGN for Conan the Barbarian 3D, the Marcus Nispel-directed reboot of the classic, badass Robert E. Howard character. Former "Stargate: Atlantis" actor Jason Momoa is taking over for Schwarzenegger as Conan the Barbarian this time, and can be seen on the poster below. We haven't seen a trailer for this movie yet, or anything else besides a few photos from last year, but this makes me think something big is coming soon, so stick around. In the meantime, you can also check out the brand new official website, which currently only has this poster.
In addition to Momoa, Conan stars Ron Perlman as Corin, Stephen Lang as Khalar Zym, Rachel Nichols as Tamara, Rose McGowan as Marique (no longer Red Sonja!) and Saïd Taghmaoui. This is being directed by Marcus Nispel of the Friday the 13th remake, that atrocity Pathfinder, the other Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and a bunch of music videos. This is a Nu Image/Millennium Films production co-produced by Avi Lerner and Joe Gatta and is based on the classic Robert E. Howard characters which first debuted in 1932 in Weird Tales. Lionsgate is bringing Conan the Barbarian to theaters in 3D on August 19th in the summer.

I like it, reminds me of the Spartacus feel from the newer two seasons on Starz. Not quite 300 stylistic, but not realistic either. I'm interested!

As a real REH fan and having read all the Conan works I think this movie may go somewhere towards portraying a decent attempt at the Conan Hyborian world. Yes it is shot in Bulgaria et, but that in my opinion is better than blue screen shite like Green Lantern. I am not keen on the 3d gimick, but if it is even close to a real Conan portrayl ( not like the John Milius dross fo the 80s) then so be it. I read the articl ein Empire and it is a hard "R" rating so i expect it to be gritty and heavy. Fingers crossed

Motion posters! Next you'll be telling me there's talking cars. One thing that's weird with it is that he's not breathing, I might be missing something though is he really good at holding his breath in the comics?

I hope this is good, but I'm sniffing typical hollywood bs here. Over the top Stylized check Questionable casting check Remake check PC action hero check Made for youth check All they need is BS heavy metal music. I fear this will go the way of Clash of the Titans.

I hope they keep it r rated, a pg13 would be pretty weak and ya be another clash of the titans

Yeah, I agree. God forbid anyone would simply dislike the poster for aesthetic reasons. People having a differing opinion from yours, pfft, ridiculous! They must all be retarded ass monkeys or stuck up hipsters! Yeah!

The poster itself is kinda cool although the guy looks like he's obsessed with his package. As for the movie I'm not interested because sga sucked and mommas character may have got like what three syllables during the entire show, but at the same time if all the alantards go see it, it may do ok!

Looking good. I hope the movie will be epic, this picture reminds me somehow with Prince Of Persia.
